Another scoring gameweek from Aviators, as Hal eventually gets his team out of the trouble zone.

    FC Springfield 21

    Tiebreaker:
Team higher in the league on Gameweek 19 gets the advantage.

    Looking ahead

No escape route opened up for Ram It In There!, the fifth team to be eliminated.

The next group of teams staring trouble in the face are Denocmuppet (45pts); Park Lane (45pts); 352 Sizzle (43pts); KeyserSoze Wanderers (42pts); FC Weymouth (40pts); and Jedi Padawans FC (40pts).

Jedi Padawans FC just need to score more than FC Weymouth to survive.

For the moment, Aviators and FC Springfield are feeling reasonable safe on 46 points. But as Hal has proved, a lot can change in a matter of weeks.

    Managerial Crisis at The Lane

The Park Lane board will not be accepting Harry Hotspur's resignation in the coming weeks, they'll be forcing it.

Apparently the manager can't read the contract he signed and the players never understand his instructions on the chalkboard.

A Swansea defender as captain, facing a visiting Norwich side with polished up shooting boots. What was he thinking?

    And it Goes Like This

I've sulked that I let odemwhatsisnmame go and didn't make Adeywhatisname captain but I know we beat Aviators in the head to head.

And it goes like this this..

I have the last two week's scores at home but not this week's.....

I can't save this on the phone; because - well, it's a phone.

Please - someone - post this (last) week's scores and I'll catch up soon.

I'm in Modena (Italy).... congrats to USA doing it in Genoa last night; when I was in Slovenia with the Scots.... Well, actually... that's another story.

    "Super" League.....

I've picked up the Super League from where 1800 left it at the end of gw23. After gw34, the top 16 headed to a single elimination format starting with gw35. Here's how the Round of 16 shook out this past gameweek:

    1. ChrisSuttonsSlippers vs. 9. Cassville United --- (31:46)
    2. BiggerBoat vs. 10. Top Shelf --- (40:46)
    3. FC St. Pauli vs. 11. ColdDogSoup FC --- (31:54)
    4. Rockville Gunners vs. 12. blechs_dawgs --- (46:58)
    5. FC Touchline Ban vs. 13. ThiKu Mariners FC --- (76:51)
    6. Sasha Juniors vs. 14. Kopite Juniors --- (38:43)
    7. Dynamo Teso vs. 15. London St. Germain --- (57:66)
    8. Glorydaze fC vs. 16. VegasVirgins --- (36:42)

    Notes:
    - #5 FC Touchline as the only top 8 team to win!
    - Dynamo Teso is done in by the draw -- fourth highest score out of the sixteen teams, but a pairing against the second highest score. Blame can/should be assigned to 1800's seeding pairings and decision not to use the standard 1v16, which would have meant victory for Dynamo.
    - While Vegas' 42 points ranks as 11 out of 16, but is good enough for the win. Vegas was fortunate, but would have won the 1v16 match as well.

Quarterfinals will be gw36 as follows:
    9. Cassville United vs 5. FC Touchline Ban
    10. Top Shelf vs 14. Kopite Juniors
    11. ColdDogSoup FC vs 15. London St. Germain
    12. blechs_dawgs vs 16. VegasVirgins

Backing up one step, here was how the table ended after GW34 to establish the seeding:
    1 - ChrisSuttonsSlippers -- 86
    2 - BiggerBoat -- 78
    3 - FC St. Pauli -- 78
    4 - Rockville Gunners -- 77
    5 - FC Touchline Ban -- 73
    6 - Sasha Juniors -- 71
    7 - Dynamo Teso -- 69
    8 - Glorydaze fC -- 65
    9 - Cassville United -- 63
    10 - Top Shelf -- 62
    11 - ColdDogSoup FC -- 62
    12 - blechs_dawgs -- 62
    13 - ThiKu Mariners FC -- 60
    14 - Kopite Juniors -- 58
    15 - London St. Germain -- 57
    16 - VegasVirgins -- 55

I broke the tie at #10-12 using the standings at the end of gw19.

To get to the final 16, we had been eliminating one team per week. Going back to gw24 when the updates stopped, the elimination order looked like this:
gw34 -- In off the post
    gw33 -- Aviators
    gw32 -- Pittsadelphia FC
    gw31 -- wewunwunce
    gw30 -- FC Springfield
    gw29 -- Park Lane
    gw28 -- Denocmuppet
    gw27 -- Jedi Padawans FC
    gw26 -- 352 Sizzle
    gw25 -- KeyserSoze Wanderers
    gw24 -- FC Weymouth

For those still alive, a little something extra still to play for.....

A lot of players still in action, so I may well have missed someone somewhere, and even when I get them listed properly, there will no doubt be someone or sometwo who end up rested midweek (with my Liverpool players being high risk in that regard). But, with bonus points from the Manchester derby still to be announced and four games still to be played on Tuesday and Wednesday, here is a midweek look at the "Super" competitions:

NOTE: THE SCORES BELOW ARE NOT FINAL -- THERE ARE STILL GAMES TO BE PLAYED

    Super League

    9. Cassville United vs 5. FC Touchline Ban (28-31)

Cassville - RTaylor will autosub for Walcott to add +1 and any points from the second Newcastle game. It's grim times for Cassville on the double gameweek front, with only Schwarzer, Shawcross, and Dempsey to play (plus RT). A curious decision to captain Aguero and not Dempsey this week, although Cassville hasn't been punished for it ... yet.

FCTB - no autosubs will get in, so McClean's 9 points will stay on the bench. A reasonable sprinkling of double GWers should be enough to hold the current edge with Cech, Duff, Petrov, Ba, Pogrebnyak, and captain Dempsey set to play. The armband on Dempsey probably locks it up, removing the most likely avenue for Cassville to make up ground.

    10. Top Shelf vs 14. Kopite Juniors (41-61)

TopShelf - provided that Baines doesn't play, Moses' 16 points will autosub. Surely some joke or reference to saving the day or leading them to the promised land slots in here. But not quite so fast, as Top Shelf still will need more points, and looks to second games from Ream, Downing, BenArfa, Cisse, and captain Jelavic. At least so far, a tough captaincy decision between form-scorching forwards was made correctly and is keeping things interesting. An early return for Baines would be a disaster.

KopiteJrs - No autosubs to come. A hefty set of double GameWeekers will now need to hold the lead -- Shawcross, A.Cole, Walters, Gerrard, Mata, Crouch, Ba, and captain Bale. Edge to Kopite, but the Moses' autosub will make this interesting and this match may well still be in play down to the very end.

    11. ColdDogSoup FC vs 15. London St. Germain (45-40)

CDS - Lobo was banking on big points in the derby, but ended up with only 9 points total from Nasri, Yaya, and Aguero(c). I wouldn't be surprised if some BPs fall Lobo's way, but certainly not the point total it could have been given all of the City opportunities. And, interesting to see another Aguero captaincy given the opponent and the double gameweek options. CDS still has a handful of games to come from Begovic, Gallas, Shawcross, Defoe, and Mata.

LSG - Having turned in a resignation letter several weeks ago, LSG made a number of moves and indicated an intention to live up down the stretch but looks to have been pulled away in the past couple of weeks by the time pressures that had led to the retirement. The result is the presence of two double gameweek players on the bench, in the form of ACole and Agger. With Richards, Young, and Welbeck not starting in the Derby, LSG lost out on points that might have been earned from a full 90, with the extra whammy coming when all 3 came on as subs at min 81, 82, and 57 respectively. So, they all get the minimum 1 point each, and they prevent any autosubs from coming in. Even with that misfortune, LSG has enough still in the hopper to make this very interesting, with games to come from the Tottenham defensive combo of Friedel & Kaboul, along with Wheater, Petrov, Lennon, Crouch, and captain Cisse (the good Cisse).

    12. blechs_dawgs vs 16. VegasVirgins (74-74)

Both squads have requested that the draw be re-shuffled. But, request denied. All defensive strategy was left in the locker room and both squads have come out firing.

dawgs: Fletcher's 9 points will come on via autosub as long as GCahill doesn't play midweek, but Fellaini's 9 points and second game will be left on the bench as blech bungles the "confirm" button on lineup changes after astutely bringing in Fellaini for a 4-point hit. Interestingly, with the intended move being Fellaini for Kompany and with Vincent presumably in the mix for bonus points, the bungle may well end up a wash. Even with Cahill injured and Fellaini left on the bench, the dawgs are flush with 8 double GWers, Howard, Huth, Enrique, Eagles, BenArfa, Gerrard, Suarez, and captain Van der Vaart. All eyes are on the century mark but concern looms about rotation at Anfield.

virgins: No autosub or BPs pending, but no one in their right mind would bet against the elder Powell at this point in the season. Seven players are set set for a second outing this GW -- Williamson, Walker, Cabaye, Modric, MDavies, Torres and Sturridge -- but the captain's armband is in the books with the Vegas betting on the guaranteed output of RVP in 90 minutes over the hopes of others in 180. Vegas has been carrying extra cash for weeks, making the Torres gambit a pretty straightforward play, but it has paid off immediately and the question is whether it can continue for the midweek game. I'm impressed, but I would have been very impressed if Fernando had the armband. Mind you, I'm the guy who can't find the confirm button, so I'm impressed easily. Anyhoo, 100 points for the gameweek looks quite feasible, but the second and perhaps more pressing question for Vegas is whether that will be enough.

Small Rocks teams grabbed four of the eight quarterfinal spots, but ended up drawing familiar faces in the quarterfinals. The Small Rocks head-to-heads guarantee that Small will have 2 of the 4 semis spots but also force elimination of 2 as well. Looking ahead to the semis, it's A vs C and B vs D in the semis, so whichever of the Small Rocks teams prevail will now head to opposite sides of the bracket.

    - - - - - - -

    Super Cup

    blechs_dawgs vs Rockville Gunners (74:52)

With the dawgs holding a significant lead on points and a large edge in the number of double gameweek players to play on Tuesday and Wednesday, Rockville face a very stiff challenge and will need a monster game from captain Dempsey to have any chance of overcoming the current deficit.

next up: winner takes on Dynamo Teso in the semis

ThiKu Mariners FC vs wewunwunce (46:34)
Both squads own Mignolet, and both sides opted to play him over their other Manchester derby GK. For ThiKu that will mean a 2-point sub from Da Gea, while wewunwunce picks up Hart's 6 points. So, the 12 points margin is really only 8. While wewunwunce grabs the edge on the GK autosubs, wewunwunce ends up with Moses' 16 points stuck in 1st position on the bench and no autosub to help out. wewunwunce has 9 players with a second game this week, with frustrated eyes looking to see if captain Ba can break out of the recent (multi-month) slump. by contrast, ThiKu will send out only 5 double GWers with 1 more point to come from autosub assuming Skrtel doesn't play, with the armband on Jelavic. Jelavic's form could well carry ThiKu forward, but with an extra 4 players to make up a margin of only 9 points after autosub, this match remains a toss up if not slight edge to wewunwunce.

next up: winner takes on Park Lane in the semis

Captains choices:rolleyes: done me in all year:(

charitably calling it "thinking", I watched Everton rip up ManU's interior defence, and Aguero is hot and motivated; and Mata my second choice had just played Barca and had the FA Cp next week so I thought he might be rested one or both and I had not that much confidence in my other double weekers, and they are showing why, as Vegas hammers the last nails in..

Be interesting to see how the standings would look without Captain points and/or bonus points.

And in the woulda shoulda coulda: gameweek before last I had a hunch before Barca 2nd leg that Drogs would rest a lot and Torres would be a good get, had a double switch lined up for him and a cheap AV defender written out and ready to click but then decided I did not want more pen points and saw Toure available and followed my Yakubu for Sinclair to rest hunch

checking out the new site. full update to come tomorrow, but with the games all played, there is still one game up in the air as ThiKu and wewunwunce are tied at 68, and awaiting bonus points from the Tuesday and Wednesday games. edge looks to tip to ThiKu, but we'll find out soon enough.

    GW36 final scores and updates..........

    Super League

    9. Cassville United vs 5. FC Touchline Ban (41-49)

The lowest-scoring quarterfinal sees FCTB advance with a tally that wouldn't have beaten any other quarterfinal squad.

    10. Top Shelf vs 14. Kopite Juniors (78-84)

Moses auto-subbed for TopShelf who also got a nice week-ending pop from Cisse, but Kopite successfully responded with captain Bale to hold off the late surge.

    11. ColdDogSoup FC vs 15. London St. Germain (52-81)

Captain Cisse comes through in a big way as the Small Rocks cellar dweller looks for one last hurrah.

    12. blechs_dawgs vs 16. VegasVirgins (120-96)

Vegas ends 2nd highest of the 8 teams in the quarterfinals, but is done in by the draw format. Had it been 1v16, followed by 1/16 v 8/9, well, you know the answer. The rotation at Anfield on Tuesday appeared to open the door for a moment, but VDV ended the suspense on Wednesday with a performance worthy of a first round draft pick.

i'm not sure if bonus points got changed or if they hadn't been done yet for some games, but there were some score adjustments today. i've gone back through it and confirmed that none of the results changed, so i'm not going to revise it. hopefully the scores are now final.

Didn't get this in before the site went down again last night, but then figured it would include the weekend bonus points. But, they do not appear to have been awarded yet. So, here's the current update, which includes the 8 games over the weekend, but not those bonus points and still the Monday game and Tuesday game to play. The longshot chance of a double seems well on it's way to being eliminated......

    SUPER LEAGUE

    **SEMIS - gw37**

    5. FC Touchline Ban vs 15. London St. Germain (**41-33**)
    - FCTB has Cech to autosub in goal to cover LSG's A.Cole, so a comeback looks quite difficult.

    14. Kopite Juniors vs 12. blechs_dawgs (**26-25**)
    - Both squads have Gerrard still to play, which would be a wash, but it may be a game changer if Gerrard sits midweek as Kopite will grab at least 9 autosub points (plus any bonus) from first sub if he doesn't. Kopite also will send out A Cole and Mata in the gameweek finale while dawgs will add Suarez. these midweek rematches with a quick turnaround are always interesting.

    SUPER CUP

    **SEMIS - fw37**

    Dynamo Teso vs. blechs_dawgs (**33-25**)
    - Not as close as it currently looks, as Dynamo will see the armband shift to Dempsey with Nani not playing (grrr, Nani seemed like such an obvious late game, 1-point sub once the decision was made not to start him!!!) and with bonus points surely coming for Yaya, as well as likely for Dempsey. Teso in a very strong position. Dawgs need a miracle from the Gerrard-Suarez combo, but can't even count on them playing midweek.

    Park Lane vs ThiKuMariners (**31-45**)
    - ThiKu is done, but will see the point total move up to at least 51 with 3 bonus points for Yaya and 3 autosub points. Park Lane has a Liverpool defensive combo left in Reina and Agger (with Bosingwa to come on if Agger doesn't play). The double clean sheet won't be enough. ThiKu is making travel plans for the Cup Final.

Here we go. 9 games and bonus points now in (who if anything still might get changed), and Liverpool-Chelsea weekend rematch still to play......

    SUPER LEAGUE

    **SEMIS - gw37**

    5. FC Touchline Ban vs 15. London St. Germain (**47-37**)
    - I've read rumors that Cech hasn't traveled and won't play, which would eliminate FCTB's GK autosub. If that's correct info, then the action flips to LSG's autosub of A.Cole (or Agger if Cole doesn't play), and whether he can score the needed 10+ points. With 6 assist and 0 goals on the season, I note that Cole hasn't hit double figures yet this season, reaching 9 on two occasions, so this will need to be a special one.

    14. Kopite Juniors vs 12. blechs_dawgs (**28-33**)
    - Both sides have Gerrard, with the permutations as follows:
    - If Gerrard plays, then the dawgs have a 5-point lead plus Suarez against Kopite's A.Cole and Mata (or 11 autosub points if Mata doesn't play).
    - If Gerrard does not play, then Kopite will have a 6-point lead via autosub points plus A.Cole and Mata against the dawgs' Suarez and Jose Enrique.

    - - - - - - -

    SUPER CUP

    **SEMIS - fw37**

    Dynamo Teso vs. blechs_dawgs (**44-33**)
    - I've now added in Dempsey's second 7 points that will come via autocaptaincy. DT holds the 11-point edge plus Jose Enrique and Sturridge, while the dawgs send out Gerrard and Suarez. If either of Gerrard or Suarez don't play, Jose Enrique is 1st on the bench -- good news for DT who is happy to trade points.

    Park Lane vs ThiKuMariners (**33-52**)
    - I've added ThiKu's 3 autosub points, which puts ThiKu's final tally at 52. Park Lane needs 19+ points from Reina and Agger (with Bosingwa as Agger's autosub).

    My eyes as well.

No Gerrard in the starting lineup. Huge swing to Kopite Jrs.

But, also no A. Cole or Mata either.... So, Kopite Jrs is currently playing today only with autosub! But it's quite the strong autosub, with +11 from Hoolahan and +1 from NTaylor. That takes Kopite to 40.

Dawgs on 33, but will get +1 if Gerrard and Jose Enrique don't come on, to go to 34. Suarez to play, needing to get 6+.

I have no idea on the tie-breaker for this competition and will need to see if that's addressed if it becomes an issue. Kopite -- if it's late in the game and Liverpool need the goal and Suarez is in one-on-one, will you drop club allegiance and root for him to miss?

But if he does score, he needs to take his shirt off and tell the ref to go screw himself and get sent off!

    All quite possible!

Just seen that Gerrard is not on the bench, but Cole and Mata are, so the Hoolahan points are now guaranteed to come on and there may still be opportunity for Kopite Jrs to get additional points today.

    Game on.

Goals are flying in, not sure if Suarez gets an assist on the own goal

The twists and turns of the gameweek leftovers have made things quite interesting as we roll into halftime:

-- FCTB & LSG -- With A Cole not playing, Agger will be the autosub for LSG, and already has a first half goal. If Agger can get clean sheet points as well, it would be enough for LSG to overtake FCTB's 10 point lead coming into the game. FCTB needs a Chelsea goal to break up the clean sheet OR needs Cole to get into the game to prevent the Agger autosub.

-- Kopite & dawgs -- Suarez currently has an assist on the own goal, which would leave the dawgs down by 1 point if he plays the entire game and nothing else happens. Assuming Suarez doesn't get another assist or a goal, could it go to bonus points? Kopite will be hoping that Liverpool eases up with a comfortable lead and/or that ACole or Mata get into the game. Before moving on, I've got to ask about the penalty since I would have thought Suarez is next in line (after Gerrard, Adam, and & Kuyt). Downing? Seriously? I could see giving it to Carroll as a reward for his play at the weekend, but Downing?

-- Teso & dawgs -- unless Suarez gets into double digits, this one is over and Teso moves on the final. Not positive, but I believe Suarez needs another 9 points or so in the second half for a dawgy miracle.

-- ParkLane & ThiKu -- Agger's name pops up again as the player who looks to make things interesting. His goal, along with the potential for double clean sheet points for Reina and Agger, would give ParkLane 18 points on the day. Down by 19, it would only take an additional save point for Reina, a bonus point, or another goal or assist to push it over the edge. ThiKu is no longer sitting comfortably and probably won't relax until/unless Chelsea score.

I think Kenny was trying to get Downing a goal, he still hasn't scored in the league. He got one in the cup against stoke.

I think bonus points are headed Suarez's way too. He has been unplayable.
