Vargas had the chance a year ago when he was playing really well with Fiore week in, week out. He is going to be 29 now, the train has "passed" for him so far as I am aware. A shame, he didn't leave when he could have.

With Farfan I am sure he had better offers. His representing group - FFOSA - even said Liverpool had gone as far as to make a "personal offer" (this being back in early March - http://deportesco.terra.com.co/futbol/europeo/1011/noticias/0,,OI4929267-EI16660,00.html). Its seems things didn't eventuate because of Farfan demands. If Farfan didn't get any other offers since March then his agent is just incompetent.

Liverpool is a trainwreck and have no hope of Champions League football

again schalke does and therefore is probably a better option

I would jump to Liverpool with my eyes closed with no second thinking at all. Even in the state they are in now (which is not that bad, they will play the Europa League next season).

S04 go seldom to the Champions. Its like saying Galliquio should have gone to Leon de Huanuco last year because they had the Copa Libertadores. Or like saying Vidal should have stayed in Leverkusen (who had champions this year) instead of going to Juve (who did not have champions this year). I completely disagree my friend.

    No te nubles tampoco julinho!

    Yo no veo muchas opciones.

I'm happy he stayed at Schalke.

He's a regular starter there, so he won't have to "make the team" like he would in other leagues, and obviously he's happy with the chemistry of the team. It's a big deal to any employee to have a regular place to work and job security.

I don't know how well it would have gone for him in England. Solano did well there because they liked his long passes (the english game, for the english, is still about long passes) and because he made Shearer look like a million bucks.

Solano's greatest asset in England was his deadly free kicks... It didn't hurt he scored, too.

Solanito became the greatest foreign player in Newcastle history.

I would have thought either David Ginola or Shay Given would be their greatest

at least from the ones I have seen

what kinda theory is that? gk cant be the best ever? somone tell Yahsin he wasnt the greatest Soviet player ever
    and your link clearly states

There are a couple of caveats to this list. Firstly, I am not counting the Republic of Ireland as "foreign". If I did, the list would look very different!

Ginola was a monster for NC, I wouldnt just dismiss him like that

there is also Albert the belgium defender

Nobby is in the mix no doubt, but its not clear cut
