That team sucked; no doubt. But this Juve team is arguably the best in Italy and have not been beaten. If we are to be successful this summer, the national team will and should be heavily reliant on this Juve team. A 3-5-2 with Buffon; Barzagli, Bonucci, Chiellini; Maggio, De Rossi, Pirlo, Marchisio, Pepe; Rossi, Cassano should be considered.
you're such a cry baby........there were 6 juve players out of 23 buffon and camoranesi got injured and didnt play...and im not sure if marchisio was necessarily playing every game or started...so it was just chiellini, cannavaro and iaquinta That team just sucked cuz of lippi's stupid choices, no one liked that team, go back to the threads of this forum then
That doesn't mean much anymore with the way Italian soccer is falling apart hopefully things improve.
That may be, but the Juve squad is on its way up. That's why I would be heavily reliant on this squad if I were Prandelli. Also, Juve plays the possession style that he likes, so it can work out for him this summer. I'm convinced that we can do well this summer.
Under extreme pressure and with hot and humid conditions, Miccoli scores an important equalizer in the Sicilian derby to get Palermo a draw! They would have won but Abel Hernandez hit the post with an overhead kick after Miccoli delivered a majestic chipped pass. He is someone that scores important goals and makes those around him into better players! He is not some flashy new forward that scores a few goals and is declared a superstar only then to promptly disappear under pressure. Here is a man that fights when the chips are down and is used to facing adversity. Cassano and Giovinco.. yeah, yeah. This is a true champion!
If you disagree with Pepe's inclusion in the final squad, then you haven't paid attention to the contributions he's made-clearly deserving of the inclusion and he can be useful.
I've paid enough attention to watching him with the NT numerous times before. He's not international material, plain and simple. He's clumsy fool that cracks heavily under pressure. No thanks.
No! I'm going to bring it up everyday. We already lost Euro 2008 and 2010 South Africa b/c of the stupid decisions of managers! Must we toss another Euro on the heap before we learn? Yeah, I feel sorry for Cassano too and think Prandelli so take him along.. they will need someone to help with the luggage. However, before the medical incident the dude was a total asshole and playing as a reserve on Milan. Now b/c of an apparent heart attack, he gets forgiven for all the bad sh1t he has ever done and is proclaimed a saint despite his failure at Euro 2008, while Miccoli, who told the truth in a court of law is banned for life as a villain even though he is clearly the best playmaker we have? I ask Padre Pio to pray for the souls of the youth of Italy so that they are not corrupted by the twisted morality that they are surrounded by!
Just as he's cracked with an undefeated Juve side this season, right? Pepe should not be a starter; but he's certainly nice to have off the bench. What other wingers does Italy have?
Unlike certain snobs that ignore the local league to bandwagon across Europe, I find all kinds of soccer enjoyable, not only the top teams. I saw Milan play.. We should cap Ibrahimovic! He was awesome! Cassano also looked cool on that tap in after the goalie spilled a shot from Ibra. Meritocracy my ass! Only absolute victory (meaning by scoring goals and not scraping through on penalties) this summer will convince me that I'm wrong and that Prandelli is not a complete tool! Miccoli and Balotelli are the perfect combo of experience, creativity and athleticism. Both have also had to deal with a tremendous amount of adversity in their careers, so their could be a mutual respect between as well. IMO this is the best attack force we have.
I doubt it. He's played the 4-3-1-2/4-4-2 diamond throughout his tenure. I guess it wouldn't hurt to have a winger in the squad in case we need that kind of option.
Maggio and Criscito can bu used as wingers if need be. But I would agree that Pepe is useful in that regard. And while his play can be erratic at times he's had a solid season with Juve.
I know it may be a little too soon, but why not take Insigne and Immobile to the Euro's? Balotelli, Cassano, and Giovinco will definitely be going, and Miccoli is most probably not going, despite meriting it. Surely Immobile and Insigne seem much better than Boriello, Quag, Matri, Pazzini, Osvaldo, etc? Especially, if they are going to be on the bench most of the time....
We're less than 2 months away from the tournament. You really think that Prandelli is gonna start experimenting with U-21's now? I personally believe that Balo, Cassano, Giovinco, and Di Natale (now that Rossi is out) are locks at this point. Osvaldo, Matri, and Pazzini will be the ones battling for those remaining spots in my opinion. It will basically come down to how all 3 look over the course of the next month.
I think he should pick his players based on their technical qualities rather than their short term form.
