titi's second isn't very impressive. i doubt he would have got that much time (and room!) to trap, turn and shoot in a french departmental league (OK, in the 75 maybe).

So Nasri became the symbol of the players who joins a club for money. Talk about hypocrisy. "son club de coeur" is Marseille and he left Marseille for Arsenal, right ? Why ? Money. Surpringly, when a situation benefits you, it doens't disturb you but when it's at your disadvantage, he's a devil playing for money. It's almost funny, almost... Money = performance in football, anyway and City is 10 points ahead of Arsenal. If Marseille could afford to pay him more than Arsenal, he would have never played there. It's just the way football works.

Usually, French players abroad and even more Nasri who is labeled Marseille only draw my indifference but I find his treatment so hypocrite and ridiculous.

can i say i'm surprised? yes, no... and yes.

he's been such a twunt for so long that i was sure he had already gone the way of all flash. so yes.

but i saw HBA play several times when he was 16-17 years old and at that time i was telling everyone who would listen that he would be the next zidane. benzema was a good player, but the real star of the show those days was ben arfa, and by far. so no.

but there remains a final surprise: what took him so long?

zidane, like messi, was a master of focus and concentration 99% percent of the time. that 1% of the time when he lost focus was also when he lost his head and got a red card, or used his head and made Materazzi cry.

Other players with talent dont have that ability **cough** gourcuff **cough**, or develop it later. It remains to be seen whether Ben Arfa falls into the "developed it later" category or not.

A rare ability indeed. It's what separates the few legendary players from the good players. Which begs the question, is it fair to treat Gourcuff like shit for not living up to the standards that the media set? With a tag like that, anything below playing like a legend-in-the-making is seen as complete failure.

I believe Materazzi rejoiced since Italy won the WC. I know no one but me think like that but in my eyes the first provocation came from Zidane when he said to Materazzi that if he wants his jersey, he'll give it to him when the match is over because Materazzi grabbed his jersey. Even when you are insulted on a football pitch, I don't think it's a valid reason for turn into Street fighter's Honda during a WC final. If it were any other player, he'd have banned from France.

I wanted to rant about Zidane.

Except that Ribery's form for Bayern has always been inversely proportional to his form for Les Bleus.

But yes, it would be nice to think that our players are peaking at the right time. Ben Arfa for revelation of the tournament? (maybe im being a bit far fetched here)

Julien Faubert is coming back to ligue 1
