Or everyone who actually had to deal with PK and the pack of clowns saw they were just a bunch of 3 card Monte dealers and ran away .

We can all laugh about it when NYC finally gets a team.... Lets hope we aren't so old that we are sitting in a nursing home laughing... ;-)

I have a feeling that this team will be announced by the end of the season. You BB have to stick together and make it happen. Garber is to into New York proper as the 20th team and the schedule screams for team number 20 in the east. Just look at the rivalry's that happen when the Cosmos enter the league. Houston goes to the west and now has Dallas a closer in state rival. The I-95 rivalry between New England, Cosmos, Red Bull, Union & D.C. United should grow. In five years as the league grows, you'll have 10 to 15 Dp's on these teams to help TV ratings in the east. I think you have the team just like we did, it's just a matter of the stadium getting put in place.

the main core guys are together - and there are plenty of other people ready for this - its just the ups and downs over the past year has decreased interest but as soon as a stadium plan comes out - that will be back.

I know there was an argument on this thread about people east of the River not goign to Jersey etc- i wanted to post this

    http://www.nj.com/nets/index.ssf/2012/04/for_nets_fans_brooklyn_seems_s.html

I mean I understand these fans - but i know many on the outside just blame the NYers. - well - other side of the spectrum.

“Brooklyn?” said Jason Krychiw. “I’ve never been there.”

I hope this can prove that its not NYers that are being "lazy" - I think this will prove that on both sides of the rivers, getting to the other side is a challenge.

“It’s another state, another world. You have to go through the Holland, and then over the Brooklyn Bridge or the Williamsburg.”

There is a difference, however. It's so much better when you get to this side than it is on the other side. ;)

    Uhh, no.

First off, Judge Landis was the first commissioner. The NL and AL presidents decided they needed a commissioner to oversee everything at the time the Black Sox scandal occured.

Happy Chandler: Suggested by the War Department, was a Senator, resigned to take the job.

Ford Frick: Started as a sportswriter before being NL President.

William Eckert: Came from military, one of the original officers of the Air Force, retired in 1957 and was in aviation consultation before taking the job.

Bowie Kuhn: Lawyer for MLB, but was a contractor, not actually employed by them.

Peter Ueberroth: Had just finished running the 1984 Summer Olympics when he was elected. Previously was an airline executive.

Bart Giamatti: Lifelong professor, only became NL President in 1986, was President of Yale University before that.

Fay Vincent: Entertainment lawyer, was an executive at Coca-Cola when he took the job.

There's no guarantee anyone directly connected to baseball, much less an owner, will replace Selig once they finally pull his plug.

I loved the nets artical and all the losers in NJ crying about how the team is moving.....

but in reality who really wants to go to that 3rd world dump in newark or garbage NJ........

one thing the artical points out is how the devils trully embrace NJ and are well supported the Energy drink should do the same and call themselfs energy drink NJ perhaps more NJ fans would support that mess

Not totally. Two were previously league presidents, but none had been employed by MLB any lower than that capacity.

Before we drop that subject and get fully back on-topic, I'd love to know what happened that stripped almost all capitalization out of Metrogo's quote.

The problem is that they never wanted to be in NJ. They just took it bc it was there and MLS convinced them that that was as close to NY as they'd get.

That and some thing else that did not cross my mind when I made my post taking a swipe at jersey...

The Artical says how the devils embrace NJ... also the Devils have a pretty cool name and logo... A nice identity if i do say so...... Now lets look at Energy Drink...... Yeah Those jersies that logo that name.... YOU AINT GETTING ANY ONE IN NY OR NJ TO HAVE ANY FEELING PASSION OR LOVE FOR A TEAM NAMED AFTER A BEVERAGE with the exception of a few idiots who dont know any better and would support that crap if it was named the AIDS Football Club Harrison NJ......

WELCOME TO NY, NETS..... NOW MLS LETS GET A TEAM IN NY SO THE LEAGUE CAN FORGET ABOUT THE CURRENT DISGRACE THAT REPRESENTS THE NY NJ AREA IN MLS.................

Remember the only reason for Energy Drink FC exists is to promote the brand. Naming it after the drink gets free mentions on all sports reports.. They don't give a crap if the fans are passionate or not.
