I learned the hard way years ago, when I told the then soon to be father-in-law of my British wife that "I smacked her fannie to get her going." I was then explained of the subtle differences in English English and American-English...

Mickey,I've meet you at Blackbaud Stadium a couple of times. The last time was at the Bolton friendly a couple of years ago. I want a stadium like Blackbaud for the Rowdies!

If you've ever seen Jasper Carrot's "Carrot Gets Rowdie" where he interviews people at Tampa Bay Center (RIP) and tries to suppress his laughter when people admit to him that they're "fannies," it's classic if you know the gag.

If you've never seen the whole program, it's more nostalgic than hilarious, but that's why I enjoyed it so much.

I don't remember that so much as a lot of other snippets: the movie theater, the trees on the lower level (one of which had my and my then-girlfriend's initials carved into it), the TGI Friday's, and when the Bandits had a shop on the upper level and sold game jerseys and I, starving college student, passed on buying one. Big mistake. Huge.

 

Have to chime in and say thanks to Kenn for posting that. There was a great sub shop in Tampa Bay Center where we would get some sandwiches to take (sneak) into the game in an umbrella back when you could actually bring one into the game. My how times have changed.
