Yeah there were some. To be fair to them, they weren't saying he would be a better option at Arsenal. Just defending him at Man City. My issue with the Mexico fan boys is they see their league as the most superior in North America and think the MLF teams would be title challengers in some of the leagues in Europe. That and they try to use the 'how did *insert country* do in the World Cup. Yet most of their players fail to be able to adapt outside the MFL apart from a few exceptions. With all that being said, I give alot of credit to Vela for at least giving it go and not playing the home sick card.
*sigh*... 1. It is no doubt the best league in CONCACAF. prove me wrong. 2. For your 2nd point: 3. Barrera and Juarez are the ones so far not being able to adapt to euro futbol. Not sure what you mean about "most" or "few" unless you just pulled those words out of your arse. as for vela, that guys doing well in La Liga. More playing time for him results in goals and assists thats beneficial to RS. Whether he leaves Arsenal or not, its up to him to decide what euro team helps him develop as a talented footballer.
1. Ah the good old CONCACAF argument. What is it again? I would also point out the Super Liga(is that still going on?) results. Thanks for proving my point though. More power for you enjoying watching paint dry. 2. Really? You would be surprised at home many times I have heard that said. 3. Last time I checked only Rafael Márquez had a decent career in Europe that last more than 3 seasons. Most might have a decent year or two, but then fizzle out before becoming part of the 'Where are they now?' group ie who are they again?
There's really no disputing that the Mexican League is head and shoulders the best in CONCACAF. I mean, really, it is. (I'm no Mexican fanboy, either. Quite the opposite, really)
c'mon man, this charade has to end. Mexico got the best league in CONCACAF, and it is not close. Hugo Sanchez and Rafa Marquez are club legends for Madrid and Barca, Javier Hernandez is one of the best goal scorers in the sport. Clint Dempsey is about as good as Andrés Guardado, imo. Mexico have a better history and have produced better players, a couple who were absolutely world class players. There is no need to slander anyone. Lets keep this US/Mexico crap out of this forum and into the cesspool that is the rest of the forums.
Joel Campbell came on as a sub and scored the winner for relegation-threatened Lorient in an important win over leaders Montpellier.
lulz, wait, people are seriously arguing that Mexico's league is NOT the best in CONCACAF? ya'll too crazy
I'm not sure if anyone has seen this or if this is a fake account but I hope it's real. Sorry if it's a repost. http://26.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_m2ivfyQIo31r4ub00o1_500.jpg
Has he done well enough where he'll get attention from other La Liga clubs? I don't follow Spain at all, so I don't know who needs a striker and who has money. But it'd be nice to get some decent money there + a sell on clause. I guess Arsenal will have to decide between a higher fee vs. betting on his future with a lower fee with as high of a sell on as we can get. I still find it a bit weird that we loaned out our two best backup strikers and have Chamakh and Park on the bench. But while Bendtner was always a tool, I liked Vela.
Don't know how accurate his wiki page is, but 11 league goals? Too bad he couldn't adjust to London, might've been useful this season. I'm sure we'll add a first option to buy back clause into his deal, could be useful if he continues to develop.
Maybe not a buy back clause, but definitely a sell-on clause. One of the issues you get with selling to a Spanish team is that there's a chance you won't ever get paid the transfer fee in full, but with a sell-on clause, you should get money right away when a sale is made.
Hmm... http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/s...-loanee-denilson-to-return-to-arsenal?cc=5901 Denilson has confirmed he will return to Arsenal in the summer after a deal was not struck to extend his stay at Sao Paulo. Both Denilson and Sao Paulo appeared keen to prolong his loan spell at the Brazilian club for another season, with the midfielder's future at Arsenal seemingly over. However, it is reported the two clubs could not strike a new agreement, meaning Denilson is set to return to his parent club ahead of the 2012-13 campaign. "I will remain at Sao Paulo until June 30 and then I will return to [Arsenal]," Denilson said. "I helped [Sao Paulo] this year with some good assists, established myself in the team and had some good games for them. "I played regularly and I did not get sent off. I have been saying all along that I am still adapting to Brazilian football and the statistics show that was not an excuse. "The amount of cards and fouls I have received have been significantly reduced." He added: "I wish I could stay for six more months but that is Arsenal's decision as I am under contract with them. I will not be unhappy in London as I will be returning to one of the biggest clubs in the world."
This is weird. I figured Denilson was happy as a clam at SPFC and they were too. Didn't think he'd ever even come back to London. Hmmmm, can we bring him back for this weekend's match?
But they want to continue to just loan him on the cheap, whereas we want to sell him and be done with him.
