You're assuming the majority voted because of constitutional principles, not because of partisan motives.

As far as I can tell, the Supreme Court justices make their decisions before the hearings, ask questions in the hearings that support their positions, and then seek the appropriate laws and precedents when writing up the case. It's 5 for Team Republican and 4 for Team Democrat. I respect them for being intelligent but I don't believe for a moment that they are independent-minded seekers of truth.

Was it always this way? I don't know. I only started looking closely at the Court the last few years.

Here's an example of the worthlessness of the mainstream media -

Remember this? It was extensively covered, this was the Romney solution to making his tax cuts revenue neutral.

I wrote at the time that this was a drop in the bucket, I mean it's fine as one little part of the solution (as is the Buffett tax) but you can't pretend it's anything like the solution. Nobody in the mainstream press took that angle. It was all about Romney's secrets being revealed.

Well a guy finally did the work (and it's not much work, just back of the envelope). Romney's proposal leads to $41 billion in less revenue (i.e., lower taxes) for the top 1%. And remember, the top 1% is the only group that he dared to mention eliminating deductions for. So Romney's math is that the top 1% get tax cuts + fewer deductions that lead to overall lower taxes, and the next 99% get tax cuts + no deduction changes that lead to overall lower taxes. But even though everybody pays lower taxes, the U.S. gets the same tax revenue as before.

The budget proposal from the Republican nominee doesn't exist. That's what the press should talk about, and hound the candidate about, and make an issue until he finally complies.

And if President Obama is vague, hold his butt to the fire too. But that's a false equivalency, because Obama has given a long-term budget proposal plan.

The Presidential candidate with the least experience in modern times is Mitt Romney.

Look who he'd be knocking off the bottom of the list of "least experienced presidents" if he's elected.

Salon's hack job on Romney's penchant for awkwardness, etc.

The press should have nailed his butt too. Obama got away with too much Hope & Change and waving of the hands in 2008.

Check out how often the more experienced candidate lost - most of the time!

I think we're okay. The last eight years have shown McCain to be politically spineless and clueless.

See, it's awkward when you're a surrogate for two high-profile candidates.

Because on the one hand, you argue that Mitt Romney shouldn't be pressured into releasing his tax returns because it's a political sideshow created by some asshole named George Romney. Which is fair enough. He can even ridicule the Obama campaign for having "ore sideshows than PT Barnum's traveling circus." Fair enough.

But then, he has to turn around and speak for his other client, Scott Brown, and pressure Elizabeth Warren to release her tax returns, not just from the last two years, but the last six years, because they potentially "contain important and potentially revealing information".

    Awkward.

    This is too funking funny.

That chart is classic. Liberals truely are brain dead. No executive experience other than as Mass governor? What does his term at the helm of Bain Capital count as? Or his stint turning around the Salt Lake Olympics? And Obama gets 16 years for mostly community organizing? Ha. ha, ha. ha, ha......

He does have a lot of experience firing people and outsourcing their jobs to other countries, good point.

Could you point to, on the chart you ridiculed, where Obama is given credit for 16 years as a community organizer?

Where would I start? "Truely?" Omitting the period at the end of "Mass.?" Ending a sentence with the preposition "as?" There's too much, my friends.

16 years community organizing = POTUS, Senator, etc....

Remember our last MBA president? That worked out really well. Unemployment doubled, eight consecutive deficits, stock markets down 25%, USA attacked successfully, stupid/pointless war,....

I never understood why someone attempting to use their Ivy League degree to help disadvantaged communities was so absolutely HILARIOUS to conservatives.

What a schmuck that Obama was!

What a waste. A talented, articulate man in the prime of his life who could have accomplished something meaningful. Built a business. Created jobs. Instead, he squandered his days hanging around with third-rate uneducated slackers who never were anybody, and never were going to become anybody. A "community organizer" who pandered to society's flotsam and jetsam by telling them they could be proud even while being poor. How about he teach them how to make some damn money and stand up for themselves?

When I explain it that way, you can understand why conservatives loathe Jesus.
