"I'm so glad, on the business perspective, that we haven't won yet," said Heck, a former NBA executive who joined the Red Bulls in 2011. "Because I don't believe we have been ready. My hope, and our drive, is that we are championship ready by the end of this season."

    Are you serious?

    Awesome.

It's a shame that article wasn't more hard hitting about Heck's BS.

There's no journalist in NY who cares or halls the balls to write that article.

Nice, I can feel that winnin' attitude from the FO. No, Heck's glad NY hasn't won because when RBNY wins a title, that's a big if at this point (no offense RBNY fans), he will claim all credit for it and how he got NY's first MLS title. What an egotistical a$$hole. Seriously, if NYC2 happens, how many will bolt the RBNY for the new team?

I can't really get what he event meant by the "glad we haven't won yet because we weren't ready" comment. What the hell does that even mean?

It means he wants to be able to take credit if things take off.

Front office speak. "The reason we haven't won anything and the stadium isn't full isn't MY fault. It's because we aren't READY for that yet".

"Ready" is the most cryptic response a person could give in that context. He used it so that he can later say things like "It was taken out of context", or "that's not really what I meant", or "there are many different variables", etc.

And has been stated. If/when things do get better both on the field and off he'll claim it's because when he first started Red Bull wasn't "ready" to deliver a quality product, but now that he's been there for x amount of years they've built this thing into a winning franchise.

There is so much to like about the RBA and the experience in and around the stadium. I have been a fan since day 1 and an STH for 10+ years, but I have to admit; I wait with great anticipation for NYC2.

My comment was mainly about how they were talking about how attendance went up, but that was partly due to reported "sellouts" where turnstile was close to 10K shy of a real sellout.

Hard to sum up in a short post, but I think Heck's response to season ticket holder anger over 45-55% price increases of "previous pricing was a gift" - sort of sums up nicely why so many of us can't stand him - he's indifferent to the fact that we waited for years to pick the seats that we did, he's callous, pompous and insulting in his approach to us, and he wants to run an MLS team like an NBA franchise that has fans to spare and where finding more and more BS ways to gouge fans is the norm.

By the way Koko - did you get the former season ticket holder survey? I just filled it out with basically the same comments.

    AHAHAHAHA! No i did NOT.

I've sent them so much mail that I'm probably not even allowed within a 10 mi. radius of the stadium anymore. ;)

Yeah, me too! I just got it today, but I think they may think I'm on some corporate season ticket holder list so they got another earful of the same thing.

Hmmmm. I wonder if any other former season ticket holders got this.

Wasn't aware you didn't renew either. Good for you. I feel better about that decision everyday.

If/when either Heck is gone and/or things get better I'll probably re-up for season tickets and start bringing people every week again.

The interesting thing about the survey was that it said it was coming from MLS - not sure if it was a semantic thing or not.

So a 3rd party representing "MLS" CALLED me and conducted the survey over the phone. I believe it was the same survey you filled out because it was targeted at former season ticket holders.

I related everything discussed over the past 1-2 years with the main point being that Ownership and Chris Heck in particular don't seem to have an idea about just who their fanbase is.

Don't think it will make a difference in the big picture, but every little bit of info from the fanbase helps I guess.

You figure they wouldn't hire them if they weren't willing to listen to them, right?

    Wrong.

If the answers do not fit their pre-conceived notions, they will be ignored.

Well, here's the thing. The person on the phone was specific in saying they were calling on behalf of MLS and NOT the Red Bulls.

Is it possible that the Don is upset about the way things are going at Red Bull and is trying to step in? Surely Red Bull would just tell him to go f#ck himself, right? I mean, what could MLS do to "threaten" (not the right word) Red Bull?

That's what I'm hoping - that this is MLS driven. But I bet their motivation is more about NYC2 than it is what a ******** up Heck is.

It's so depressing. They had such great momentum when the stadium opened and, off the field, they've done nothing but shoot themselves in the foot since then.
