Just pointing out 5 British teams have lost the final, which is interesting.

The premier league has had the most losing finalists in all competitions.
3 Europa 5 Champions League in 10 years.

Maybe Britain is a nation of chokers!

The most noticeable difference in terms of quality between La Liga and EPL for me is in the goalkeeping. I'm still laughing at that second penalty Blackburn "earned" last night. Such a 'keeper wouldn't get a place on a 3rd- division squad in Spain, never mind on one of the biggest clubs in the country.

Considering Iker has been around for over 10 years, that's a pretty meager collection of "bad" goals. None even come close to the example I gave above.

Including Celtic and Rangers in on the discussion is irrelevant because their results don't affect England's coefficient, which was the topic at hand.

My point was that even the best make mistakes. And yes, some of his mistakes are as bad as Brad Jones' one. Also, this video is not a representation of all his mistakes. He's made a lot more.
Brad Jones is Liverpool's 3rd choice goalkeeper. He's barely played in the Premier League.Pepe Reina who is first choice and is Spain's 2nd choice of course has made a lot of howlers this and last season. So to say

    is very wrong and ridiculous.

I highly doubt it. You could watch a whole season of MLS and not see a worse goal.

Clearly you've not watched De Gea and Reina this year, could make a 5 minute clip of howlers from them in this season alone.

Could make a 10 minute clip of outstanding saves from the two as well, based on this season alone.

There is only one good keeper in the Premier League and thats Joe Hart and even he has had his moments.

I agree that the top 2 spanish teams are superior to any other club in the world. However I don't think those two teams make it the best league in the world. If anything they dominate the league so much its probably the most predictably league in the world.

Hart is a very good goalkeeper but he is hardly far away the best in England. He makes some poor mistakes as well and it's cost City alot of points in the past. de Gea, Vorm, Krul, Reina, and Szczesny are all some of the best in the Premiership along with Joey.

No, I only seen Real Madrid and Barcelona lift the La Liga with "little" challenges from Valencia and Athletico Madrid.

English Premier League is the best league in the World- Teams like Man Utd, Arsenal, Man City and Chelsea fight for the title.

I think it all depends on what you mean by "best".

If you mean which league's teams have done the best in Europe this year, then the answer is Spain.

If you mean which league is most compeitive from year-to-year, then it's probably Germany or France.

If you mean which league has the most exciting matches, then probably England.

If you take team budgets into consideration, then the answer is almost certainly Germany.

After all, Bayern Munich has accomplished just about as much as the top Spanish clubs in recent years despite spending a fraction of the money Barca and Real Madrid (and the top English clubs) do. Likewise with a teams like Newcastle (England), Malaga & Levante (Spain), Moenchenglabach (Germany), and Montpelier & Lille (France), all of whom have had very successful seasons on relatively small budgets. Ask yourself how Jose Mourinho would do with Levante's budget, or Pep Guardiola with Malaga's?

In the last 8 years La Liga has had two different winners..... But guess what; so has the Premier League. Only Chelsea and Manchester United win the league.

I still think England is more even than Spain. The top two in England currently have an average of 81.5 points and +57 goal differential, with the third place club having 65 points (16.5 worse) and +24 (33 worse). The top two in Spain currently have an average of 84.5 points and +75 goal differential, with the third place club having 55 points (29.5 worse) and +12 (63 worse). Another way to look at it would be to see after what game in La Liga it was clinched that the title would go to Real Madrid or Barcelona and how many Premier League clubs could mathematically have won the title after the same number of games.

uh..em. Chelsea are in 6th place right now. The day Real Madrid or Barca are in 6th place (late in the season) is the day we can say La Liga is moderately competitive.

You are completely wrong about Malaga. They have a big budget. They are the Spanish Man City. They are owned by a Qatari billionaire.

But at the end of the are still nonetheless only two winners. In fact even since 1995 the Premier League winners list would have only ONE more addition in Arsenal. That is how small the number. La Liga has had in that same period 5 different winners.

Point 1: People forget that the Premier League is not great in itself and that before Chelsea; the PL consisted of Arsenal and Manchester United, and that It took a Russian billionaire spending almost 1 billion euros to break that up. Now it has taken another Oil Billionaire's unlimited money to try to break up the newer duopoly.

Point 2: The reason Barcleona and Real Madrid are that far ahead of everyone is because they are that good. They would do the same if they were in the Premier League. Let us not forget how 11th place La Liga team decimated the 1st place team in the Premier League.

Point 3: IF the quality of the Premier League is that good then how come Premier League teams outside the conventional top 4 are unable to compete in Europe? And do not give me that nonsense about them not taking it seriously; that is absolute rubbish. Manchester United and Manchester City both fielded their best line ups but still lost. La Liga has the most amount of finalist and winners in this cup too. The midtable in La Liga is easily stronger than that of the Premier League.

Right ,but since when is that the ultimate measure of parity?

England isn't perfect by any means, but there have been many twists and turns in the title races over the years, involving several teams. If you can't see the difference between that and 2 teams running 30+ points ahead of everyone else then you're just in denial.

Also, you seem to be arguing 2 different things: Quality and parity. I would agree that quality-wise La Liga is better now. But parity? No-way. England is better and it isn't that close. If Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool aren't in the title-race, it's because of mismanagement. But at least they have the resources to compete. In La Liga nobody else has a chance even if they spend their money very wisely, because they don't have any money in the first place.

lol, how is this even a question?

La Liga is by far the greatest.

So many good teams right now...i mean Malaga isn't even a European team yet!

Once they become a European team, they will join the main 5 of Spain!

Which occurs more or less the same number of times as when Jupiter is aligned with Mars, Saturn and Neptune, on any given leap year after a sudden solar eclipse.

Malaga will have a tough time in Champions League next season unless they really improve their team. It would probably be better for Spain if Atlético Madrid or Athletic Bilbao qualify for Champions League and Malaga goes to the Europa League.

Malaga is still a year or two away from being a contender for the final 16 of the CL.
