Top scoring team in all of the 4 groups Carvajal had a kickass goal celebration last week, I see he plays FIFA too
We're in first position, six points clear of Tenerife in second place. Rayo II in fifth place and out of the playoff spots are 8 points after. Toril has done a terrific job.
He has. I especially like how he is implementing the same playing style as the first team. There was a play against Coruxo when we had at least 6 players counterattacking after a corner, we were in a 6 v 2 situation and Joselu messed up the 1 on 1. There is an updated league table in here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2011%E2%80%9312_Segunda_Divisi%C3%B3n_B
No way . That's the celebration I use every time I score, and make a note of doing it into the back of the net whenever I play online or against friends. I was thinking yesterday how I'd love to do that in a proper game as a professional footballer . Awesome.
How would you feel about Toril getting a shot at coaching the first team whenever Mou decides to leave? Do you think he'd be good enough?
Can anyone give a detailed account of how the team has been doing? Top players, big suprises, etc. Has Mosquera played at all since returning?
Overall they have been pretty consistent this season, although maybe a little up and down since the new year, but still looking the class of their group I think. They did lost to Tenerife, who is in 2nd place, but I take that with a grain of salt as that is their 1st team which was in La Liga just a couple years back, so they aren't a team of under 23 players. Mosquera has played pretty regularly in the games I've seen since he's come back, but I have missed a couple. I don't think he has any future at the club though. I think Joselu, Jese and Carvajal are the best players this season. Morata and Alex maybe just behind them, though Morata playing out of position on the wing a lot has I think kept him from reaching the same level as last year, but could be good for his development overall. Denis has been pretty good as an impact player off the bench, but again, never going to be a 1st team player IMO, but a nice player to have in the Castilla team. I think this team has a good shot at winning promotion if they can keep getting results and maybe continue to pick their form up as they reach the business end of the season. Overall a pretty promising group I think, with Jesé clearly looking like the best of the lot IMO. I really think he's got what it takes to not only get to the first team, but to become something special for the club if he's developed properly. Edit: Forgot to mention that I think Jesus looks much better than Mejias in goal at this point. Mejias has had a ton of wtf moments this year, some of which have cost the team in games
I'm very impressed with Jesse, but then I see Juanfran as the most mature player. Especilaly when he plays at the right fullback. Those two will make it in the first team.
I don't know that I see Juanfran making it to the first team at this point. I believe he is 23 now, or close to it if I'm remembering correctly and while he is fantastic for Castilla from a leadership and maturity standpoint, I just don't think he has the consistency needed. He has some good qualities and maybe I could see him as a squad player, but unless there is a change in philosophy at the club, I don't see it happening.
Juanfran is not first team material. Could be something for Betis, Santander etc, but nothing for Madrid, not even squad material. Same goes for Nacho, Casado, Mandi etc etc. Only Jesus, Carvajal, Alex, Morata, Jese and Joselu can make it to the first team.
Now we just have to see who they play for promotion. It looks like Mirandes and Baleares will win Group 2 and 3. Group 4 is still tight.
Yes, as you may know Segunda B is divided in four groups. The champions of the four groups will be drawn and face each other. The two winners will get directly promoted and will face each other in a final of who will be the Segunda Division B champion. The two runner ups still have a chance to promote to the Segunda. They'll face the number four of one of the other groups.
Ok, thanks for clearing it up. But, since Castilla had the most points, do they get home advantage in the semi-final and final, or am I confused? Just wondering what benefit, other than qualifying to advance, does winning the regular season bring?
As I understand it, winning the regular season puts you into the 'winners draw', of the 4 winning teams. The 2 teams that win this 'semi final' will get directly promoted regardless of who wins the final. The 2 losing teams from this winners draw get another chance to gain promotion, as they get another shot in the regular playoffs
yep, madridismo is right. Being champions of your group gives you another chance to promote. so you have two chances, while the others have only one.
