Just having LCY practice with the first team's gotta give them an uplift and Mumba's on his feet

I still can't fathom the Muamba situation. The sheer odds against his recovery, let alone him recovering enough to contemplate playing football again, must've been near zero.

I'm happy for him and for Bolton. Say what you will about Bolton and the fact that LCY should go elsewhere, but I don't think a team or a manager has treated one of our KPAs so well in recent memory (in the prem). I also think this may be the one situation where a manager shift hasn't detrimentally affected the playing time/career of our KPA.

I do think that we all have to temper expectations between rust, secondary injuries (as body adjusts to weaker parts), etc.

Indeed. I'm hoping that everything will go well so he can make a furious comeback next season.

I'm hoping things go well enough that he'll perform miracles for our olympic team...

Muamba definitely wins the Jesus Award this year.

wow, i did not expect such wish from you....thought you'd lean toward something like "let him make a full recovery for next season and for the WC run"

Would playing at the Olympics be beneficial to him? Does he miss the preseason? We wouldn't want him to start new season fatigued.

    Slightly off topic:
What are the chances of our young euro players (KSY, KJC, LCY, etc) getting picked over what has been the regular squad for qualification?

I understand that the current team has been playing together for quite a while, but surely the mentioned three at least would help the team greatly. IIRC, ksock mentioned that JDW has no chance of making the squad, which is reasonable imo. But then again, I don't recall Kim Hyun Sung or Kim Dong Seop impressing too much.

    Can anyone provide more insight/opinions?

We need our next generation to somehow win a medal in London. That and if Bolton do get relegated, we need him to showcase his talents and show managers/sporting directors that he's fully recovered.

JDW needs to be picked. Give him 4 weeks at Paju, and he'll be fine.

THis is what I think as well. Kim Hyung Sung is the other option and he has impressed me during the qualifiers but he hasn't impressed me at all in the K-League when I have seen him. I don't think he has been playing much either. I don't particularly rate JDW but he should be given a chance to train if there is a duration for that.

+1. At this point in the season, I just don't think he will be able to show where he's at. And even if they don't get relegated, certainly I imagine that Bolton might like the option to sell if he does well because they need to improve more than 1 position next year.

Again. 0% chance that Lee plays in the Olympics.

Looks like Coyle might setup a closed door friendly.

Some other nice comments but also a warning from Ricketts which is my expectation... theres almost always a minor compensation injury like strains / pulls on these sorts of comebacks.

If I were a part of any prospective club looking at Lee, I wouldn't want him playing in the Olympics. I don't want him playing in the EPL this year. Give him the offseason to keep developing his core strength and upper-body balance and I think we will have an even more devastating winger on our hands. iirc, he's exempt from the military anyway, so why would he risk his own playing future?
