Although he has been out of the news for a while, Chagaev is scheduled to be released from prison on Sunday. That could be changed if a Neuchatel judge has his way, and three additional months added.

*Sforza leaving GC after the YB match

*the Sion decision at the Bern Mitteland court will be made the day before the final round. The court only has 2 choices:
    1) give Sion all 36 points back
    2) not giving any points back
in case of 1) the SFL could go to the national court yet

however, the TAS decision is pending yet for the Lausanne, Thun and cie case vs Sion. Guess they wait for the Bern Mitteland court decision. In case of 1) they could give Lausanne and cie right and give them forfeit victories vs Sion. In this case Sion would only lose 13 points instead of 36. Lausanne would pass GC and Thun would pass YB. Sion would be in the race for a EL place yet in the league chasing YB.

Uli Forte or Murat Yakin are rumoured to be lined up as replacements, though why Yakin would leave an upwardly mobile Luzern for a rapidly sinking GC is anybody's guess.

I remember when football used to be decided on the pitch rather than the courts. Ahh...the good old days!

Some very entertaining matches this weekend. LS and Thun was fun to watch, and Lang's goal was very, very nice. YB and GCZ was a match full of chances, and a draw was the right score for the way the two teams played. Servette scored an OG for Sion in the 93rd to make it a draw. In not, Servette would have swept the season series from Sion, as it stands, they got 10 points against Sion, not too shabby. Sion had a terrible week, loosing at home to Luzern, the a draw at Servette while LS won twice. They now sit 10 points back from LS. The FCZ-FCL draw keeps Basel 16 points ahead.

    1. Basel 27 +34 59
    2. Luzern 28 +10 43
    3. YB 28 +10 40

Forte it is. It looks like his job just became a tad easier with the draw at YB and Sion not playing really well. I also thought that Yakin would not have been a good fit, Luzern is strong and in Europe next season, who knows where GCZ will be.

Forte with a difficult first match away at Thun. Servette with a tough match at Luzern. Sion and Basel would have been better if Sion's week had been better. Although Streller is ouf for a few weeks. Can LS continue its hot streak?

Sion rejected at the court in Bern Mittelland... now they only can go to the federal court, but this will probably take at least half a year

Servette is going to ask the judge for another month of adjournement

so far 2mio CHF have been collected and Servette is confident to get 10mio till the end of the season (5mio on top of the 2mio would be needed to finish the season incl. the open bills)

there are big serious investors who want to invest, but there are certainly some details to be solved (financials, shares etc)

only this week they finished the accounting... there has been no work done since 2010... in total, there are bills open towards 211 companies

now, next week the judge should give another adjournement of a month, but Servette has only 3 weeks left to get the license for next season and they have to sort out their situation before that. Now, as the accounting is done, Quennec should make deals with investors next week and pay all the bills next and next but one week and get back to the judge next but one week to be able to get the license for 2012-13 in 3 weeks from now.

ok, apparently there are some people who just want to put money in the club, others who want to take over the club, others who want to do sponsoring... please, exclude the ones who want to take over the club... Quennec should go all the way

No accounting done since 2010! Wow, that is a way to run a business into the ground. I hope that Quennec can get everything squared away.

Servette with nothing really to play for now, just pride. Luzern gets a hold of 2nd place. Thun narrows the gap on YB. GCZ gains a point on LS, who maintains its 10 point lead over Sion.

The following clubs did not recieve the license on the first try:
BSC Young Boys, Servette FC, FC Sion and FC Zurich.

The only one who is in danger at all would be Servette, but I think that as mentioned, Quennec should be able to convince the ASF that things will work out.

What I don't get is why a financial taskforce hasn't been formed by the SFV. The league is really in disarray and it reflects badly on a lot of people. Hope the SFV one day soon will understand that they need to be pro-active. More check-ups on clubs, more and firmer warnings for clubs, clearer statutes. We can't have another season like this.

they tightenend the rules tough last year after Chagaev's arrival...

11 teams didn't get the license in first instance, among which 4 SL teams

Servette got another month by the judge today, however everything needs to be solved this week and next week to get the license.
And with the additonal 2.5 weeks and the accounting numbers known, Quennec doesn't wait long. Servette has replaced Pereira by Alves... good for Servette - better football and less money to pay back as Alves was the biggest open bill. And all the contracts with the interested sponsors and investores should be done asap.

Good move to bring back Alves. He really could be the difference next season.

Whoever said the Swiss and their football was 'boring'?

Certainly not me. It must have been the english media.

Most english clubs are in the deepest 'doo doo' and are in loads of debt. e.g. Man Utd/Chelsea.

Trouble is of course is that the english leagues are more attractive to a rich Arab/Asian/Russian/American to bail them out.

    Grrrr.

If only 'solvent' english clubs were allowed to compete in various league/cup competitions.....there wouldn't be many!

Arsenal would be one and er........?

you have the problem in lots of countries... if they would have the same strict rules in Spain as in Switzerland, all teams would be relegated

anyway, Servette has about 10 days to solve their situation and get the license for next season. The victory vs YB today will help

I'm all for football clubs running their life as I do mine.

    If I can't afford something - I don't buy it (e.g. a £multi-million property in the Bahamas)

Mind you, I could afford to buy a (smallish) football club - but I wouldn't want to go there!

.....And I'm all for consistency within Europe regarding finance of football clubs.

Why does Switzerland have to suffer when far greater lapses go on elsewhere - especially in England.

Gross sacked at YB. The loss at Servette was too much. YB should have kept Petkovic anyway IMHO... They were playing a much more attractive football with Petkovic than with Gross and Petkovic also learned that he cannot only attack... But if they had been nearly as good as in attack with Gross than with Petkovic, YB would be on a secure 2nd place

If there is any question on how dominant Basel has been look at these stats:
200 days at the head of FC Basel for Vogel, no league losses, 14 wins and 4 draws/
    A. Frei has 95 goals in the last 81 ASL matches.
    Ouch!
