He probably is in BvM's scope but only for that 2-man defensive block in midfield. And I think BvM thinks there are 4 or 5 players better than Anita in that position (Van Bommel, De Jong, Van der Vaart, Strootman, Schaars).

oi, people, what was Aron Winter's role at Ajax before before he left, and when exactly did he leave? I was pretty sure that he was an assistant coach up until mid last season, but I can't find any sources that say for sure. The only thing I can find on his coaching career is his Wikipedia page which says that he left in 2009. Anyone???

He was coach of Jong Ajax. Left in the summer of 2008.

He coached the reserves for 3 straight years and left together with Adrie Koster on a high when they won the title there. Koster went on to coach Club Brugge, but Winter declined to follow because he wanted to coach a 1st team himself.

So I see we have signed Lasse Schöne for three years. I guess this helps out in the midfield but I've not seen enough of NEC to figure out what he brings to the party. Good that it was at least a free transfer and this probably means that Lodeiro is on his way out and we don't get anything in return for him. Really too bad given his injury history and that he really did step in this season when we had no strikers to play for several matches.

I agree, this probably means that Lodeiro is on his way out. No surprise there, really.

Looks like he's primarily lining up as the central attacking mid for NEC but he's also played as a winger and a striker this season.

Little video of some of his goals.

VDV, Heitinga, Sneijder et al have expressed many a time in the past that they want to finish their career in style at Ajax, no worries. :D

If we're lucky we might see Seedorf back as well!

They always say that they want to finish in NL.. But the only footballplayers that actually do, do it so they can immediatly get a job as an assistant/trainer at the club.
If they dont want that, they will always choose for a foreign club which is willing to pay them an X-fold of what dutchclubs are willing to pay..
And doesnt Seedorf have a little project-club of his own in Italy which he will focus on the second he retires?
