don't worry, it's just a piece of classic pathetic sport journalism.
There is 0% chance of this happening, since AC Milan would have to waste an extraEU slot (on 2), which is definitely not happening for a third keeper.
The only chance is if they really believe he could replace Abbiati... except that there's no need for. The other thing could be that they get him and loan him but again, makes no sense.

Galliani is probably dumb to ask Kawashima to be their third choice. Not even second, third! Was he drunk?

again, don't play their game. I'm sure this news is pure speculation, if they even ever met. I know his agent is trying to help him move to Serie A, but if it will happen, it will be in a reasonable way.
On a side note, it looks like he was Live this evening in a SKY show, on the italian television, which unfortunately I can't get

    Well...
The thing is that italians have a lot of prejudices on japanese players, especially gk.
Well I think this make sense.
Listen: they buy Kawashima, made the jersey with his name, sell a lot of them in Japan in the summer and than when Serie A begin they loan him to a little club (maybe a newcomer from Serie B).
That's a good marketing strategy. But I know this is far awat from what will happen...

Shirts of players who don't play for the club don't sell shirts of the club. It's not like Japanese buy everything because "Kawashima" is on it.

    Sure.

But, for example, Miyaichi sold a lot of Arsenal shirts with his name, being involved in the Arsenal asian tour last summer w/o playing a single "real" match with Arsenal's jersey and now he's on loan with Bolton nope?

Nothing new than if Kawashima will do the same in AC Milan.

    I saw this.
They were joking about the Milan rumour:but actually i won't be surprised to see him touring in the off-season with Milan, and then sign with some smaller club, like Parma,to say one.His manager is Andrea D'Amico,he has close connection with AC Milan staff and he's an old shark.
By the way,Kawashima speaks excellent italian, much better than Nagatomo.

I'm really excited about this, i hope that Eiji could make it to Serie A. He deserves this chance, he improved himself very much these last two seasons in Lierse.

That is not the same. Miyaichi is a youngster who still got his future at Arsenal ahead of him (hopefully), while - if Milan is going for Kawashima - he has no future at Milan. So, if at all, he will shirts for the club he is loaned out to (if he actually plays there).

Btw, look at Usami. I doubt he sells any shirts after it became clear he has no perspective at Bayern. In Japan, I am pretty sure Bayern is not more popular now than before Usami's loan, it may be even the opposite.

Also, I hugely doubt that nowadays Japanese players are signed for shirt-selling reasons - if that was so profitable why don't all big reputation-clubs have a Japanese? And if marketing is the reason for a signing, I am pretty sure that Kawashima is the last one who will join the club, even if it's a top club.

This move only would work if he is loaned out to a Serie A-club where he has a real chance to start, not for marketing reasons.

    I agree.
I add also that merchandising in Italy isn't so good.

I watched the show, Eiji was really fun.
But i don't think the tv-show took too serious the skills of Kawashima. He really could make it in a mid-table team in Serie A.
Fiorentina or Palermo would be a great move.

Where you hear him speak italian???

Whispered please can you upload that tv show on youtube if u have a channel? (it's free)
I know and i agree with you.
The problem is that here in Italy football fans think that the only reason to sign a japanese player (even Kagawa and Honda that are World Class players) is for commercial reason. That's what the past has showed (a lot of japanese players come in Italy playing few matches and only for commercial reason).
I really hope that if Kagawa will sign for Milan and/or Honda will sign for Lazio this situation will change.
But believe me: italian football fans are a lot ignorant about international football and they reasoning with an '80s/'90s mind when J-League does not even exist...

eh, true words, it really is a shame that Europe always plays against itself in the CL\NT matches, can't help it though, too far apart, obviously.

teioh: it's true, he speaks italian, I think he even trained with Parma years ago.

I hear it from the show. His Italian isn't excellent, but good for being a Japanese that learned Italian. Nakata remains the best Italian-speaking Japanese. :D

I'll try tomorrow on my channel on YouTube.

    Yes, i think in 2008.

    Some excerpts from Japanese Wiki:
Kawashima played in a youth tournament called ヴィニョーラ (Viniola?) in Italy after he joined Omiya (probably 2001), where he was voted best keeper. AC Parma inquired about him, but Omiya declined. He met Ermes Fulgoni there, who is said to be Buffon's mentor, and visited him 2008 in Parma to get individual coaching. Since then Fulgoni is giving him advices on goalkeeping.

... He has been learning Italian since 2001...

... and the guy who signed him for Omiya was Norio Sasaki.
    Didn't know that.

Not from Wikipedia, and I am not sure, but I think I heard in one of those TV shows that Fulgoni told him to wait with a move to Italy before.
