i understand this sentiment. 2009's effective playoff match in new york is something i remember fondly (I'm reaching but I ain't got anything else).

Another way to look at the standings......6 teams (and counting)have reached double figures in points before TFC has reached single figures.

The size of the crowd shows the health of the team to a great extent. I believe something is is wrong with the reporting. The MLS statistics report that TFC have had 3 games and the average crowd size is 13,000 plus. TFC have reported considerably more, which sometimes I have found hard to believe looking at all the empty seats.

How is the attendance counted? By the tickets checked at the gate, by the sales of season tickets plus box office sales even when fans have tickets and don't turn up.

So far as I know most leagues in the world put the attendance with the scores of each game. Why doesn't MLS do it?

Not sure where the 13k comes from.....

    http://www.mlssoccer.com/matchcenter/2012-03-24-tor-v-sj/stats attendance reported as 20,070

    http://www.mlssoccer.com/matchcenter/2012-03-31-tor-v-clb/stats
    attendance reported as 18,944

    http://www.mlssoccer.com/matchcenter/2012-04-14-tor-v-chv/stats
    attendance reported as 18,476

Attendance in MLS is tickets sold/distributed. As someone (like many people) who has attended most of the matches ever played at BMO Field these numbers are, both, trending lower and appear accurate.

Saturday's match (allowing for a few people who just don't show up or never make it to their seats) means that around 5k empty seats at BMO.....that looks pretty much like what I saw.
