And the reason for this is perhaps the soft off-side laws and refereeing?

This kind of research is not helping either to create brave managers.

I was very pleased with Jetro Willems today. Also played against a good winger, so no easy day. There was a decisiveness in his movement I have not seen before. Had a few sloppy passes, but overall good defensing.

Douglas just had another Brain fart first half against Nac. I don't think it will ever leave his game and it is something people have to acknowledge and address when they want him in Dutch NT.

Kelvin Leerdam with two fine assists in today's 3-0 win over Excelsior.

...and also on the final NAC goal where he really didn't know where Bouhkari was and you could see him back pedaling but it was too late.

He stepped forward Orange14. He guessed the trajectory of the ball before he had a good view of how it would dip. Before that, he had a ridiculous pass on Boschker that he had hard time to control and Nac player almost benefited from.

What annoys me is that I only see a part of the Twente games and every time I watch there is a weird slip from Douglas. Big chance that happens also if I don't watch, but the pro Douglas camp here don't monitor the situation objective or at least tell here if this behavior of him continues. The brain farts. What if we are in a qualification game 1-0 up and in the final 5 minutes Douglas decides to zoom out of the game. Losing points in European qualification gets you immediately into trouble. Seriously. Why is nobody bothered by this.

No more Strootman, NDJ should be playing in EC. He was superb today.

I, for one, am bothered by it. Douglas is not as good as our current two central defenders and one of them is 100 years old (Mathijsen).

Feyenoord have three good central defenders in Vlaar, Stefan de Vrij, and Bruno Martins-Indi. Van Marwijk should take a closer look at de Vrij given his youth and improving technique. Mathijsen is getting too slow to keep up with young strikers.

What's up with this De Guzman story. I thought the word was that he would play for Canada. This however is fresh from his own Tweet from the most recent interview he gave:

    Question 9.
You have a Dutch passport and a Canadian one, what's that about?

    Answer:
No that is not correct, only a Dutch one. Bert van Marwijk can just keep following me. I have by the way never played a game for Canada so I can represent Orange. I came to the Netherlands when I was 12 and I also feel Dutch. The Canadian NT coach Steven Hart did guarantee me a place in the NT, but I go for the highest possible to reach and that is the Dutch NT.

Which De Guzman? The one that plays for Toronto FC, or the one that came up through the Feyenoord youth system and then transferred to Spain? They're brothers, but maybe made different decisions regarding national team play.

Looks like Royston Drenthe has played his last match for Everton. Pulling an El Hamdaoui, he was left out of the side for the FA Cup semi-final for disciplinary reasons (they could have used him on Saturday) and now is facing reserve football or may be terminated. Too bad he can't keep his head screwed on straight as he has talent.

Feyenoord should stay clear Drenthe, he's a nuisance to have in the squad apparently. Not a good role model for the younger players. Unconfirmed rumors suggest he showed up at training sessions while being intoxicated.

If Feyenoord should wants to give an ex-player a chance it should (indeed) be JDG, he hinted about a return in NUsport.

Should Bert leave after the EC I think JDG has a better chance of making the squad since the new coach will probably let go of the likes of Kuyt and MVB.

My hunch is that Jon DG (the younger Guzman) will wait until after summer to decide. I am pretty sure there will be a squad re-building/re-loading in Oranje in some shape or form pasca Euro 2012, regardless of the results in the tournament. I can envision there will be quite a handful of new (youth) faces introduced and given chances to take over.. the midfield especially can use fresh injections. JDG should/will 'test the water' and see if he can manage to sneak in--- which I think he will be (at least) part of the conversation.

High reward, low risk situation for JDG.
Being in Oranje will make him more recognized and can do a nice service to his long-term career. If he is not called up, well.. plenty of time to switch to allegiance to Canada and hoping to qualify for the W.C 2016.

Well Feyenoord seems like a strench with all the signings they have done already let alone the above avarage salary they would have to pay JDG. But unfortunatly Twente would be great for him. unfortunatly for the rest of the Eredivisie that is :)

I think JDG2 is just keeping his options open. There's still a lot of things that would have to go right for him to be able to represent Canada, so I doubt he would want to shut the door on playing for Oranje. He should just come to tfc:D that way it'll be easier for him to get his canadian passport back, and he'll have no need for his Dutch one because he'll be playing in Canada!! It's so simple :p

van Persie dropped a notch in my book with his final second behavior in the match against Wigan tonight. He refused to shake the Wigan captain's hand after the loss and got in his face right at the end of the match. As the Arsenal captain he should have congratulated the opponent on a well played match.

De Guzman was Feyenoord's best player at one point, but his injuries ended that and then he left once healthy again. I don't see DeG going to FC Twente if they buy Schone this summer from NEC since Schone has done so well this season.

At Feyenoord, De Guzman could replace Bakkal if Otman leaves this summer, but I don't see them being able to afford DeG's wages along with Dirk Kuijt's, who is also considering a return to de Kuip. The only midfield position in question is the AM (#10) slot which Bakkal holds. Vilhena could contend at that spot, and maybe Clasie. Still not sure where Vormer and Goossens slot in unless El-Ahmadi leaves along with Bakkal.

NO NO NO. Just no. Biscuits & no ego no fear??

Biscuits is probably the biggest diver in the world & is a Grade 1 Cheater. Anita is 100 times a better guy than Biscuits personality wise.

And Anita is a better tackler & physically slightly stronger. Biscuits would struggle outside of Barca

He has apparently rejected an offer from Juventus & has said that he will extend his contract till 2015 & it is only a matter of time.
