I have been lucky with my captains thus far, but I did the wildcard trade to pick up three RSL players (2D, 1GK) for the upcoming games that looked easy. Unfortunately they gave up a goal against Chivas. That one hurt... That was easily 12 points I lost last week. that was supposed to be a given.

I don't think Vancouver is going to keep up the goalless streak for much longer though....

This is my team right now:
    Hartman
    Beltran---Bernardez---McKenzie---Russell
    Cesar---Salinas---Beckerman
    Cooper---Espindola---Estrada

    Bench:
    Gruenebaum
    Y.P. Lee
    Rowe
    Cronin

My choices for captain are almost always off, just this last round I dropped 18 points because of a bad choice for captain.

So far I have 257 points though... not too terrible, hopefully I can improve, I want to get into the top 500.

257 points eh? Not too shabby at all. I'm sitting at 228 at the moment. I was in first place in a group with 7 other people but dropped all the way down to 5th this week because they all either had Henry or Cooper as their captain. Damn. Anyway, my team:

    Nielson
    Soares--Burch--Woolard--DeLaGarza
    D.Hernandez--Beckerman--Espizona--DeLeon
    Estrada--Espindola

Bench: Cannon, Demerit, Moffat, Le Toux.

I need to drop Hernandez, since he's a loose cannon. Also, with Eddie Johnson healthy again, Estrada is going to be seeing the bench soon so he needs to be dropped. Vancouver, DC, and SKC all have 2 games next week, so luckily I have some of all 3.

Not a bad team at all.

I was in first place in a group of 6 people, until henry started tearing it up. one guy hasn't made any lineup changes since the first week, and had henry as his captain. I've slid down to 3rd now.

the rsl folks on bigsoccer have their own league of 36 or so people, I'm in 7th right now, so that's cool. and 1st in my head-to-head league... only undefeated one left, haha. My last few rounds haven't been so good though.

I've been thinking about transferring Estrada too, but forwards are so expensive. I think I'm going to transfer Rowe for DeLeon next round. Cheaper, more points. That's always good. More money to put towards a forward :p

I've just now started looking at schedules to see what players I'll have available in the coming weeks, and I'm going to have to make more changes... both keepers are off the same round.

Thanks for the heads up about VAN, DC, and SKC. I have one of each, but I know what teams to look at for next week now.

Also, I just noticed this today, but they're only giving us one transfer before the MLS cup match. Save your wildcard for that, because if your team has the majority of players that don't make it to the finals, you're screwed. A lot of people will have used their wildcard before then, so it can help you get a one-up on your competition.

Head to head leagues are fun too. I'm also in one and allready have two ties, which seems like it should be highly unlikely.

Good advice on the wildcard usage. I'm a little worried that i'll get so far behind that i'll be out of it by the time MLS cup rolls around, so I made a rule for myself that if I get 100 points behind the 1st place person, i'll bust out my wildcard. It's a long season though, so we shall see.

Also for round 7, New England and Seattle have byes.
For round 8, Sporting KC has a bye, and FC Dallas and RSL play twice.
For round 9 and 10, a shit-ton of teams play twice. I was bored at work one day and decided to look ahead. But yeah, I kinda screwed myself over a little bit by not looking ahead for byes because I have 3 Vancouver players. That one sub a week is rough.

Two ties? that's crazy. in the league I'm in there hasn't been a single tie yet.

That's not a bad idea... I'm kind of bored at work right now, maybe I'll get started on making a spreadsheet showing what players I won't be able to use for which rounds, and showing what teams play twice in what rounds.

My team used to have 3 RSL players, and then one person per team after that. Since then I've changed it up a little bit, but as far as the schedule goes, It might not be a bad idea to try to get back to that, because then you're not as worried about the schedule, and more often than not, you have someone on your team that has 2 games that week.
