Looks like the Shikoku League may be the earliest starters of the Regional Leagues this year, as they get going on 1st April. Sanyo Electric Tokushima will be known as Panasonic Energy Tokushima.

Well only logical since Sanyo was merged with Panasanoic....... does that mean Sanyo Sumoto will become Panasonic Sumoto also?

Great sponsor logo and I'd buy the uni for the lulz if it wasn't 15,000y.

Japanese teams, blind as ever to the concept of supply and demand.

Tohoku league should start on the 22th on April, at least this is when Vanraure has its first game scheduled according to their website...

Sagawa Shiga loses 4-1 at home against newly promoted Y.S.C.C... that was unexpected!

Not if you are a close follower of the JFL. Sagawa Shiga always starts very bad in the season, this actually happens every year.

Haha, thanks for the info. This is only my second JFL, so I didn't see that coming :D

Kamatamare and Blaublitz are on top  Kamatamare had three fairly easy games, but I'm more surprised by Blaublitz. Their performance last year was quite disappointing, but it seems as if they have changed their pace this year...

no probs, but yes Blaublitz is kinda small surprise... although something might have been on the way since firstly they had announced they would not seek for J-League associate membership in near future, and suddenly a couple of weeks ago they said they would afterall...... that could mean they also sudenly themselves began to believe in themselve some more.

Although since its an old JSL club I welcome them doing great.

Blaublitz and Kamatamare extend their lead with other surprising wins... The Tohoku boys beat Honda FC 1-0 while Kamatamare buries Ryukyu under 4 goals.
MIO Biwako Shiga in 3rd place with another good win, 3-1 @ Kanazawa.

It is no surprise that Kanazawa isnt performing too well this season if you look at the teams Kanazawa certainly lost more profiles than they gained.

Ryukyu really swings, either they score 4 goals or conceives 4 goals....... It must be a matter of weeks before Nagano sparks in their team looks freightenly strong even they havent performed that well yet.

Just a reminder that I'm tweeting Regional League results and information at twitter.com/rljpn and am also running an associated Tumblr blog.

Composition of the 2012 Tohoku League:

    DIVISION 1
    Fukushima United
    Grulla Morioka
    Akita FC Cambiare
    Morioka Zebra
    Fuji Club 2003
Shiogama FC Wiese (absorbed a part of NEC Tokin's squad)
    FC Primeiro

    DIVISION 2 NORTH
    Vanraure Hachinohe
    Rein Meer Aomori
    Tono Club
    Mizusawa Club
    Nippon Steel Kamaishi
    Omiya Club
    FC Ganju Iwate
    TDK Shinwakai

    DIVISION 2 SOUTH
    Cobaltore Onagawa
    Sendai Nakata
    Marysol Matsushima
    Iwaki Furukawa FC
    Bandits Iwaki
Merry (メリー, could have totally got my translation wrong...)
    FC Scheinen Fukushima
    Parafrente Yonezawa

Apart from NEC Tokin's disbanding those were the seedings for last season, with no promotion/relegation applied.
Italicized names are the teams that weren't able to take part in the league because of the 3.11 disaster...
Well what's more to say. Go Vanraure!

EDIT: does anyone happen to know a link for the Shikoku League website? I searched on the Tokushima/Ehime/Kochi/Kagawa FAs' websites, clubs' websites, but my japanese non-existant skills didn't really help...

There isn't a Shikoku League website, although you can find a fixture list at the top of this page of the Ehime FA site.

Most of the Tohoku League schedule has been confirmed. Division 1 starts on 15th April and finishes on 7th October. Divison 2(North) starts on 22nd April and finishes on 28th October. Still waiting for Division 2(South).

Silly little question: I'm trying to keep track of all the scorers in the regional leagues, and while some websites (Tohoku, Kanto, Kyushu, Hokushinetsu, Kansai) publish reports of the games played, I'm having an hard time in finding them for the Shikoku League- no official website and some teams don't even have their own (Tadotsu & Panasonic)
Any help with this would be greatly appreciated- thanks in advance. :)

Actually they sneaked in a single opening game today.

Kodemari - I don't know how you could do that reliably for every single fixture.

Thank you anyways :) Most other clubs' websites just report the teams that scored, and not the players who did... I'll leave this task for when I will be able to speak decent Japanese! :)

Actually, the scorers for Shikoku League games are recorded in the regional section of the Shikoku News' sports site. The section index page is here and the details from Sunday's games, by way of example, are here.
