Or do you see him NT career as over? His form for Chelsea has picked up dramatically in the past month. He seems to have an assist in every match. Not the same as scoring but it's better than his usual performances for the Blues. Do you think he still has a role needed by Spain? Or with guys like Llorente, Soldaldo and Negredo enough?

A large part depends on if Villa can return. I wouldn't be shocked if Raul made a return as well.

I know that many do not want to see Raul return because he represents the old seleccion (old as in pre-Euro 2008 achievements-lots of hype but lousy results), he is more deserving of a spot than Torres. Still DB has plenty of younger strikers available than going with Raul who is in much better form than El Ninho.

I'm not Spanish but i must say imo, judging on present form, Torres doesn't deserve to be in the squad and Raul deserves to make the squad because he's in great form. And it will be really nice if he could play one last competition with the national team and who knows, Spain might win the euros again, imo they're favourites to win it.

After not scoring a goal in 24 hours of play and scoring two goals in the FA Cup is a dramatic improvement just as well as picking his nose and not getting caught by the cameras, give me a break, he's useless and Chelsea know they have damaged goods and no chance anyone will pay for his services at the price Chelsea paid for him. His NT career is over and the folks in the Liverpool FC Finance Department look like God right about now, sort of like Billy Bean when he traded Zito to the Giants!

Ruben Castro of Betis is in better form than El Ninho, so as a Betico I have to say, Castro a la seleccion!!

    Ese Beti Oe!!

I would take Torres just because he is a good luck charm. He somehow magically always ends up on the winning side.

    Lol

Should Torres have been selected? Poll

It's still a new poll, but out of almost 2000 people who have voted 100% of them have voted no. 100%, that means not even 1 of those 2000 people said yes. Not even 1. Never seen that before, even though it's still a squaky fresh poll. I have voted as well but I won't say for which. ;)

Old argument, but 'yes' Estrada's knee made contact with Torres' heel causing him to fall. You can even see Estrada stumble briefly from the contact in Bastard's video.

This is not to say that I favor of Torres' inclusion in the EURO squad. ;)

I was going to respond to him with that but I figured why waste my time on him. This has been settled multiple times already.
Was it worth a red card? I dont think so as he had no intention to do it.

Just to clarify, Estada received a yellow, which was his second of the game.

And for all those lurking, here is that earlier booking...

Roughly ten minutes before the Torres foul, Estrada committed a clear foul on Iniesta that should have seen him sent off then. It's at 2:42 of this video. Conveniently, you won't find that foul on youtube because it takes away the argument by the haters that Spain were favored by the ref in that game.
So Estrada was lucky to have still been on the pitch before he fouled Torres. So while I would agree that Estrada did not intend to foul Torres I believe the referee kept the Iniesta foul in mind and had Estrada on a short leash.

I think he's gonna have a good Euro. No Villa and he's ecstatic about being on the squad again. He's out with a point to prove. He's hungry and it looks like he's also in form. I am a fan, so I hope he proves the doubters wrong big time.

One thing about Torres is that he is a likable character. He seems down to earth, has a good head on his shoulders and rarely loses his cool (if ever)
I don't mind that we called him as long as DB knows when to take him off if he fails to deliver.
I would have liked Adrián instead of Negredo though.
