I think he's been good. Fiorentina has had a rough season and he's already signed with Milan, but he's such a slick midfielder. I thought he was great vs. Juventus yesterday (even despite the 5-0 loss).

Add Borini to the "stock up" group. What a ridiculous season this kid is having!

I wonder whether Borini is playing beyond his abilities this season or he is a promising youngster...

I thought the same because he looked average at Chelsea and never really shined at the U21 level. He looked good on his Swansea loan but that's in England's second division. Either way, hope he keeps it up - an exciting young Italian talent.

He had like four to six appearances with the senior squad. Hardly enough to make a judgement. My understanding is most of his Chelsea appearances were with the reserve/youth team where we was the top scorer and captain of the team.

    Up: Osvaldo

    Down: Matri

Could come down to these two and Osvaldo is the better choice if you ask me.

    Matri is still much better

he's just not getting good service in juve and thats not his fault. If he was in any other top 6 teams he'd be a top 5 scorer.

Umm no. Matri is just another Gilardino. He belongs on a mid-table team. He's not Juventus caliber, and I say this as someone that detests Juventus.

Exactly. Matri is nowhere near Osvaldo and Juventus should have bought him because Conte wanted him.

not sure if u watch juve but he scores with little chances he gets. No way he's another gilardino, they score different types of goals and matri is actually has very good crossing abilities as well, something gila never really had. He will score more goals before the end of the season and will be picked as one of the 5 strikers for the euros.

The final 5 strikers will be; balotelli, rossi, giovinco, di natale and matri

are you implying that a Juve player is granted NT call regardless of his fitness or scoring ratio?

napoli doesnt have that many italians in the starting line up.

    Maggio is already included,
de sanctis is #2 to one of the greatest goal keepers, u cant expect anything else
cannavaro, i always wanted him to get called up, i give u that

did i say i wanted Napoli players called up? no im just saying that we should be looking to other teams and not keep calling up juve players id rather see Osvaldo go to the euro's Matri is alright but i think Osvaldo would do a better job.

whats better about osvaldo? he hasnt done anything special and seems to be a hot head. Even his 2 years at espanyol, he scored like 20 goals...this season he has 9 in 20 games. If anything matri has a better record than that...so at best they are same level, not anything higher.
I think with balotelli and de rossi, the team is maxed out with hot heads. lol

With Cassano back in the mix and there are reports he will be on the bench next weekend Di Natale or whoever just saw their hopes crushed. This is the positive mental boost that Italy need.

    Matri > Osvaldo

Matri has knack for scoring and he's done so in big spots (e.g. @Milan). Osvaldo may have more skill but to me Matri has shown an ability to finish when needed while Osvaldo gets can get flustered in big spots. Plus Matri is actually Italian and not an oriundo.

I would go with Balo, Rossi, Giovinco, Matri and Borini/Di Natale. Maybe even Quaglierella, just because I think he could be like a Grosso, someone who elevates his game with the NT.

Nocerino, another excellent performance. Above all, did not panic in possession against the Barca press like some teammates, showed neat footwork in tight spaces. What a revelation this season.
I really believe he should be a key player for Italy at the Euros.
