Some insider news say that Leandro Castán will be called in the next convocação.... Really?

Glad to hear ... as Kaka seems getting back to his oldself ... last couple of weeks

He was arguably the best AM in Real right now, and sync well with Benzama

Since Ganso has the other AM spot and Mano is under pressure to call up Ronaldinho. It makes sense why Kaka gets excluded.

To be honest, I am still not entirely convince that Kaka is the answer.

    A typical Kaka strike.

I love those long range curling shots. They require such crazy technique, absolutely beautiful.

The other day I was watching Lyon v Bayern, and I started to wonder why Luiz Gustavo never had any continuity in the NT. His speed, passing, interception, build (6'2") and decision making are extraordinary, and he's used to a set-up that keeps possession and plays at the highest level (for some who value that), Bayern easily being the 3rd best team in Europe this season. He seems to be a better option to Sandro (barely played for Tottenham this season), Elias, Ramires, and even Lucas, etc. He would stay screening the back four (mais pregado) and could be played with another more 'techinical' volante, I don't know if Elias could be defensive enough to balance the side defensively, but it would be cool to try out.

Also, there are still question marks on why Douglas Costa continues to be neglected by Mano...

well luiz gustavo is still getting called up. he's just not starting. but i honestly think he will be on the team in 2014, but likely not as a starter.

Gustavo has started some games and came on as a sub for others iirc.. He started alongside Ralf one game. Seemed pretty average in both games imo. Hopefully he shows out the next time he's called-up.

I still think it is a grave mistake for Kaka not to be caled up this year. What else does Kaka have to do? Mano wants to wait to see his performance next year, but what about his performance this year for God's sakes! Why wait? It will be that much more difficult to incorporate Kaka on the team with one year left until the Copa. Why not begin incorporating Kaka on the team now, Jesus Christ.
What is it with Mano and Kaka?

    Exactly. It doesn't make sense.

    Two reasons I suspect.

He has to allow Kaka to get fully healthy, and fully match fit.

Then he has to allow Kaka to regain some kind of form that warrants being called up.

Kaka's form up until the last couple months didnt warrant a call up imo. Im hoping Kaka has a full preseason to rest, then get back into the swing of things. Then that will be the true test of if Kaka is ready for the big time role and not just a place in the 23 man rosters.

I would normally agree with this if we had a respectful coach that had some sort of criteria for players to be called up. Mano doesn’t. Ganso was in no shape to be called up for the Copa America and he started. Ronaldinho as of late is pathetic. All you hear about him is that he’s missing practice and quite honestly he's been crap as of late. So why not Kaka? He seems healthy. Seems in good form & scoring goals. So to me, he should be considered for a call-up.

i know i've said this over 50 times, but costa and michel bastos on the wings would be dynamite.

outside of neymar - i don't see any explosiveness on the pitch with brazil these days.

Have you watched Lucas these past few weeks? Michel Bastos time with the selecao is way over. Turn the page.

Hulk is an animal. I really like the contrast between him and Neymar on the wings. 2 completely deifferent types of games but I think they could complment each other well. Both are explosive, exciting, and create a lot of opportunities where the other can pick up goals.

Also, Lucas seems to really be stepping up his game. and can provide that explosiveness also. That position seems to be a strength.

I believe in Lucas and Hulk as well thats why i'm so against recalling robinho. Mano deserves praise for keeping robinho away from the selecao and its going to pay off. I can't wait until this summers Usa tour we all will learn a lot.

to me robinho hit his high point in 2010. he scored a few goals in the world cup and since then he's been going along for the ride. that's why i was surprised to see him captain - i never struck him as a leader like i would cafu, lucio, dunga, etc.

i thiink after the summer is over - between the 4 games in May/June and the olympics, we are going to get a sense which players from the olympics will get that "promotion" and which ones are going to be part of the "core" team fromt the USA tour...

thanks for the correction. from the few times i have seen him play he is quite explosive.

i'm looking forward to seeing him play live in person when i go to the brazil-argentina match.

He was not picked last time in the squad. He looks decidedly average.

A good post if I may so.

    The logic of Mano.......

He picks Kaka in the squad for Gabon/Egypt; Kaka gets injured and pulls out; Kaka plays again and plays well; Mano then does not pick him for Bosnia and says he has not impressed him; Kaka again on form; Mano then says he might pick him - NEXT SEASON.

Time get Cerezo in there as manager - or Luxemburgo.

Ronaldinho HAS NOT been playing poorly. He participates in most of the goals for Flamengo. The problem is that as NotreDameFlamengo has stated, with a salary of USD 1 Million per month, and with the reputation and world wide recognition of Ronaldinho, the fans expect much much more. That is the problem.
Let us hope this all blows away and tomorrow R10 shows a stela performance against Vasco. And as Century has stated, if R10 leads meu querido Mengao to the next phase of Libertadores, all of this will be in the past. You know one day villain, one day hero.
