Alianza's coach and ex national team coach Paredes says players that aren't starters for their clubs shouldn't be called into the national team. I think that is ridiculous bringing along young guys like Sosa, E. Sanchez, Larin even before their teams make them starters is a good thing. Since they are clearly among the best young prospects we have we might as well given them a chance to experience international football several countries have develop their young players successfully doing that. Besides Paredes has shown he is a pretty terrible coach both tactiacally and in managing players so I don't trust his judgement that Sosa shouldn't be a starter for Alianza now if anything he shouldn't be a coach anymore he way out of his depth.

I think its a good thing that we bring our best possible players at all times. they gain valuable experience and understand the philosophy and mind set Prof Israel incorporates into the team. Unlike what they gain at staying with Alianza (obviously Paredes is trying to cover his A _ _). Plus it can only help those players when we have another exhibition match against a not so strong team we can ease those young players into Starting Roles and not have to call up anyone abroad and save money. I see it as a reward for the young players as it should motivate them and play at a higher level of football. Also, I still see favouritism and politics involved with players in the E.S. Liga.....which I don't like at all. Unlike Israel & Tuco who pick the best players at the time to play.

I think it's a good thing. Those guys have a ton of potential and should be getting the proper training experience with the national team. Paredes is an idiot who doesn't know what he's talking about. The guy was a joke of a national team coach and his teams typically suck. Apart from that U-23 title he got with the azurite he's done crap.

I'm glad Pacheco got the call up, he deserves it. And its nice to see la selecta get a warm welcoming in L.A. Quiero una goleada por minimooo tres a ceroo!

I'll take any win. I'm sure it won't be a goal fest. I think we win 2-1. I'm really feeling good about this game. I'm super stoked about it. If only Fito was there. :(

Cool to see the match between the two will finally happen in DC. They have been trying to get this match to happen in RFK for years and great timing when it finally is confirmed. Just days before both kick off the next round of Qualification.

The fans/folks in the stands should be passionate to say the least.

Profe Ruben Israel talks about Jr. Burgos and others.

In my opinion it's too early to call up Richard Menjivar and Mikey Orellana to the mens side. They still have to mature and become more well rounded. They need to stick with the sub 23 because as much as I have hated Dennis Alas he has really grown into his own since the gold cup. He has been excellent and true fighter. Also, Elder Figueroa is looking to be a good option as well.

However, as ironic as that sounds I'm all for Yimmy and Diego Cuellar being our starter and back up at our senior side. Montes, JJ Gomez, and Dago Portillo are good enough and are not in shape. They all look fat and out of shape. I'm also in favor of Alex Larin being called up. I know he just turned 19 and is been put in the spot light for ridiculous errors but you have to be a fool to not see the extreme potential in this kid. He's really sound defensively and hooks up with J. Alas on the flanks perfectly. I'd love for him to be taken into consideration as a back up to El Chele Pacheco. Chele has matured a ton and is more reliable than before and could mold Larin into an extraordinary talent.

Richard Menjivar podria firmar con algun equipo de la MLS, equipos como el San Jose, FC Dallas y Chivas USA estan observando al joven jugador salvadoreño, segun @ANavarroT52

That's according to some Facebook talk. Let the rumors begin. The guy is quality and really has a lot of potential but to me his case is like Dustin Corea. Unless they prove to be at the level of Jaime Alas and Xavi Garcia, they have to be in the sub-23 and possibly get call ups for the senior team for friendlies only.

That friendly doesn't make much sense we should focus on getting teams with Costa Rica and Mexico's style of play since that will basically determine everything. I guess they want to work on defending set plays a bit more.

don't you get sick of playing the same CONCACAF & CONMEBOL teams over & over? I'm happy we're playing the best team in the OFC, I'd like to see us play Australia some day!

I feel we haven't been playing enough CONMEBOL teams lately and so long as we play the stronger teams in CONCACAF I am fine with it we won't get meaningful games against anyone else until we can beat them consistently. Will get plenty of opportunities to see teams from other regions if we can past the teams in ours. In my opinion the time to play teams with different styles is over and everything needs to be focused on Costa Rica and Mexico since that will be basically it for us until the next world cup if we don't get through.
