Wow - I am honored to be on the Wall of Shame - but amused that my quote, which is a play on the Colin Clark saga, ended up here I'd like to see a "Latino Wall of Shame" but I've heard that the U.S are already trying to build one... well, I guess now I can official go on the wall for real
First off you should know sarcasm doesn't translate well on the interwebz.... Second, there is a Mexispazzo wall of shame so you see we make fun of everyone.... (though there's not many quotes their because gringo spazzos outnumber the rest of the world.) Third, I quoted your post because it in turn adds to the many spazzo posts in this thread. Carry on.
He meant that the border wall is the "latin wall of shame". Hilarious, ain't he? Funny thing is that any wall they build will do as much good as tomreel's education did for him.
My mistake, if you click the link to the post you'll see the conversation history. https://www.bigsoccer.com/forum/showthread.php?p=25323242#post25323242 This was before the tournament and a few of us were trying to analyze the victory of El Salvador over the University of Maryland. Kevin a Salvadoran fan came in and gave us a breakdown, offered some of his view of the team and then there was this.... it continued
60 games? I thought it was a bajillion. 60 games? I lcount less than 20. And half of those were without 6 players who were suspended.
In theory, this squad has been together for a year at most, taking into account that only Araujo, Reyes and Enriquez played a significant part in both the U20 WC and Copa America since Oribe Peralta and Rafa Marquez were tasked with the scoring load and Michel was the goalie. Guys like Pulid and Davila were on the bench but were not used at all during the tournament. If anything, the current squad came together during the PanAm games but is quite different from what we're seeing currently in the Olympic qualifiers. But 60 games? Hardly. Can I see a link to that interview JJ?
This time last year when Bob got fired, people wanted Kreis as USMNT coach just because he led them to the CCL final against Monterrey, despite only winning one trophy in his entire managing career.
Fora minute I thought that said kinky. So what next jurgen, those the uniform also clash with the field
Thanks JJ. I'm counting eight competitive games this squad has been involved in. Three at Copa America and five at the PanAm games. The difference is the level of experience in the domestic league this squad has. Every single player is a starter with a few exceptions like Aquino, which seems to be more of a tactical decision from Meza than anything else. Pretty much every other team has brought in European reinforcements while Mexico is playing this tournament with a domestic roster.
The US u23 team that ended up playing in the qualifying had a few core players that had been together since December, but only about 5 I'd say. The rest of the camps were about trying out different players and then either discarding them and finding new ones and on and on. That's nobody's fault but the US and Caleb Porter
ya i do believe teh usa's team excuse, I know they weren't grouped for along time together. mex was grouped longer then usa, but 60 games... not even half of that but I use to read the us, would have trainning camps during the week, something the mex team didn't really half alot of either.
but altho, i think the usa's team is only getting half of the media heat, the mexican team got when they failed to go to the olympics. remember that, i mean they had no pitty what so over for the players, even to this day they make fun of them eveyrtime they get subbed in.
