What do you guys think of the 2012 average attendance of Orlando City SC? I think the average attendance can reach around 11,000 for the coming season, Orlando should be the next MLS franchise.

I think we'll do better than 2011, but I'm not gonna guess THAT high.

5500 is mah guess. The schedule is still a little wonky and the season is short. Plus you guys seemed to do well avoiding the rain last year, that could always change.

You'll probably lose some of the looky loos from last season, but if season ticket sales are even somewhat close to what the club is claiming (careful about believing everything the front office claims) then it'll likely even out.

I can see somewhere around 6000.

The two weekday games are going to hurt.
The rest are Friday(2), Saturday(6) and Sunday(2) games.

I agree Speedcake, I think a little above 5k is a reasonable expectation. Amazed that a FL team wasnt effected by rain in the summer.

i predict the attendance reported will be 1 higher than it otherwise would have been since i just bought a Season Ticket to OCSC!!!

of course i live 2+ hours away so i won't actually get to many if any games but hey ... i am supporting the effort to get to MLS!

Awesome. I believe the tickets that you don't use can be rolled over to another game. Just call the front office and they can set that up.
There were a couple of weekday games I couldnt go to last season and used those two tickets to take a couple of friends to a Saturday game.

well for me it is going to be more than a couple of games that i miss ... i mean i'll be lucky to make it to two or three games with having to rent a car and drive 2.5 hours down and back in the same day and all ... but i just figured (and asked the ticket guy) that i would give them away on here to anybody who wanted to go to any games i couldn't.

oh. and if somebody involved in the club is reading BigSoccer i should point out that the fancy schedule on facebook, which i assume is probably a printed item as well, has a pretty bad error. the last game on Aug 17th versus the Dayton Dutch Lions has OCSC listed as the "Away" team and Dayton as the "Home" team. but that would make the schedule unbalanced 11 H and 13 A and the OCSC website schedule shows that as a home game. maybe somebody can mention that on facebook so they can fix their schedule on facebook (and their printed schedule cards if they are the same).

we grew and grew last season, that 11k for the championship game was great. I went to 9 games last season I believe. And got ST's for 2012. Hopefully some of those who boosted the numbers in the playoffs will come for the regular season. Looking forward to April 15th....COME ON YOU LIONS!!!

IMO, 700 season tickets last year and they averaged 5,415. Great championship numbers. This year they just mailed over 3000 season tickets. They had 5963 at a preseason match. They will be a winning side and that helps draw fans. I think they can count on a walk up of twice the ST number so I predict 9,000 average with well into 11000 for several weekend games.

Ask yourself how long it would take to walk up that many people.

Ask yourself how long it would take, assuming, let's say, six ticket windows, 2.5 tickets per transaction and, say, 70 seconds per transaction (which would be quick).

6,000 tickets at six ticket windows, 2.5 at a time in 70 seconds each would take nearly eight hours to process. Double the ticket windows or the average number of tickets in each transaction and you're still looking at nearly four hours.

    That's unrealistic.

I don't know. Orlando City drew 11,000 to the NUFC Friendly and 11,000 to the USL Championship Match. There's season ticket holders and walk-ups. But in between there's Ticketmaster.

Assuming they actually mailed 3,000 season ticket packs (sorry, I'm skeptical but don't doubt the actual number is impressive, nonetheless) that doesn't mean that walk up or average attendance is going to go up by the same %.

It MIGHT, but don't bank on it. Many of those new season ticket holders (probably the majority of them) are very likely fans who were already coming to games frequently last year and thus already counted in attendance from last season.

It can be safely assumed that attendance WILL go up, but let's slow down on the 8, 9 or 11k talk until a few games into the season.

Yes they drew 11k to the USLpro championship match, but just a few games prior to that they were "only" drawing 5k ish.

I'm still going with between 5500 and 6k average this season. The schedule is compressed and you guys got lucky with weather last season. Any more than 6k and yeah, that is very nice for lower division soccer.

Until you subtract all the freebies, anyway. :D

Too bad we aren't likely to ever find out how this team would perform in the stands without the constant MLS talk and MLS buzz. Would have been interesting.

Also considering they have a D2 budget in a D3 league, if OC dominates again this season the stats will be laughable.
