Seeing as the indoor shoe threads I found were mainly taken over by turf discussion, I'd like to focus here on solely on futsal/indoor shoes.

Which shoes do you play on and why?

I'm currently almost through my first pair of Diadora's that I picked up for 25 euro some time ago. Now I want some good ones. What would you guys recommend to me and others looking for good indoor shoes?

I agree those looked great, indoor season begins in about a month. All I have are a pair of sambas that fit very tight (had them for like 3 years). We play in a gym floor looks like its made of wood, don't know if that matters on what type of indoor shoe to get. Any recommendations?

I play in the Nike5 Street Gato shoes, I guess they're not specifically made for indoor use but I wear them all the time for playing and they're great.

They look a bit bulky, really like the look of them though. They also have some pretty nice basic colorways.

Anyone ever had any indoor Mizunos?

It's interesting you say that cause they definitely do but when i'm wearing them my feet feel so low to the ground, also the traction which I forgot to note has been spot on. I barely find myself slipping on gym floors.

Hmm, its either these Nike5s, Indoor Copas, or a pair of indoor Mizunos. Really leaned towards the Copas though.

I use the adiPower indoor shoes. Overall, they are just ok.

The leather on them is pretty good for a $50 shoe. It softens up over time and offers pretty good touch on the ball.

The predator element on them is the same one found on the Predator SL's. It adds a little bit of curve to your shots when using regular footballs, but the indoor balls we use at my university are like these orange, super bouncy, suede covered balls that are kind of hard to control and put spin on. So to fix this I actually used some silicone glue and kind of recreated the predator element from the FG boots.

The outsole grips ok on the gym floor I normally play on. They are much better than my old Samba's. They were terrible. I used them in a street game the other day and they were much better on a street surface.

Also, I should note that the do fit a little long.

I hear a lot of top futsal players wear Munich. However, Munichs tend to have a higher heel. Does anyone have experience with those shoes? How do they fit?

And what about Joma? Anyone try those?

Same here. I play in the black/white/limes and love them for futsal and indoor. Great traction, they don't feel bulky at all and they have great support. The cushlon (the padding in the insole) is actually great.

I'm wearing the topflexs. They are super comfortable and the traction is good. The upper however leaves a little to be desired in terms of softness and touch. They also run a smidgen longer than all adidas, nike, and puma indoors that i've tried.

I've tried out quite a few indoor boots but always go back to copa mundials. The best hands down. Just wished they still offered them in different colors. About 7 years ago a guy on my team had some in blue that he got from overseas. I haven't seen them since. Would love a blue pair or white gum pair.

An old teammate of mine has a pair of those, they look really good!

How would you guys compare sambas to copas?

The leather on the regular Sambas are a little stiff at first but they do mold to your feet after a while (full grain leather). They are like tanks and I had mine for 5 years before they tore. The are slightly lighter than the Copas.

Copas are k-leather, really mold to your feet after a while and they feel great. The touch on them is better than Sambas and I feel overall a better pair of indoors. However, I think they fit a little tighter across the forefoot and feel a little clunky.

Now, if you can find some Samba K, that's like the best of both worlds. You have the touch of k-leather like the Copa on the Samba. I love my pair. Best pair of indoors I ever had.

Thanks for the comment. Do you mean the ball bounces off your shoe more than it should? And that it has a sticky point extending past your toes?

Most important thing: get a shoe that really fits.
Try them on while wearing the socks you'd wear during a game.

Personally I prefer low sole/nose shoes. More feel, more control.
But make sure you're knees aren't going to suffer - ie. by opting for Nike's zoom air models.

How are they? And is that synthetic or leather?

Nike Air Zoom Control. Probably the best shoe I've played on overall. Light weight, excellent fit, a lot of control, excellent design, very strong, zoom air cushioning. And cheap! Paid like 50 bucks. My other two favorites: Adidas FeetYouWear - I don't fit into Adidas anymore since they changed the sizing; and suede Lotto's. But those weren't very strong.

Puma's. Pretty heavy. Solid. Have been my backup pair for ages now. Also good for playing outside, as these soles aren't too thin.

Nike shoe, but very expensive. They fit very well, although that was quite tricky cause you can only order them online. But the sizing seems consistent with all of my other Nike shoes. Light weight, low sole/nose. But protected against the usual wear around the nose of the shoe. Lotsa control.
But: Round laces instead of flat laces. One of the laces started to rip already. Inside of shoe leather at the heel, which means unless you tightly lace up, your foot may slide in the shoe if your heel gets sweaty. So I had huge blisters on both my heels after the first two games I played on them. Four months later I still have purple marks on my heels.

Edit: Oh right, I also own a pair of Reeboks but I hate them.
And I have a pair of Munich's but they don't fit too well, and the nose isn't low enough for my liking.
And I tried out those Nike Lunar Gato's but I returned them after a day. They're a lot like the Munich's and the Puma's I've posted above.

Unless they were a pair that were modeled on the Copa for the 2006 World Cup (sold as a street shoe, and not k-leather), I highly doubt they are real. Adidas has never sold the Copa in colors other than black, and the Profi has never been made as an indoor shoe, which eliminates that option.

No not at all. Just the upper isn't as soft, supple, or thin as a k leather shoe would feel so you don't feel as close to barefoot, if that makes sense.

As for the longer thing, I just meant I prob could have taken a half size smaller shoe: 8.5 as opposed to my usual size 9 with other brands.

Cool. I'm tempted to try Joma, I've heard a lot of good about them. And it's a change from Nike or Adidas.

    Anyone have experience with Mizuno?
