Swedish Allsvenskan 2012

IFK Göteborg played a training match against second tier side Falkenberg. A 3-1 victory in the end, but not a very impressive one where actually the two central midfielders for Falkenberg dominated the first half. IFK played slightly better in the 2nd half. IFK might get away with this kind of performance against their coming opponent in the first round of the Allsvenskan Syrianska. But in the long run this is not good enough for a top placing.

GAIS-Hacken
Difficult game to predict, very similar strength teams. I would give the slight edge to GAIS as I think Häcken might struggle to score a bit this season.

GIF Sundsvall-Kalmar
Kalmar is the stronger team however GIF Sundsvall are significally harder to beat on their home ground then away. Kalmar has also gotten some injuries during the last week.

Elfsborg-Djurgarden
I'm slightly biased but I think Djurgården might cause an upset in this game as their preseason form has been good and Elfsborgs defence is suffering from injuries. Still Elfsborg are one of the strongest home teams in the league.

AIK-Mjallby
Even though AIK has struggled to score this preseason I still think that they will be too strong for Mjällby to have a chance.

Syrianska-Goteborg
Syrianska has had a pretty shambolic preseason and seem to be behind in both fitness and creating a cohesive team. Should be an easy win for Göteborg.

Malmo-Gefle
Malmö is clearly the higher quality team but I remember that Gefle had them frustrated in both games last season so maybe there's a chance for an upset here too?

Orebro-Atvidaberg
I think Örebro will bounce back from their poor season last year and they will likely start of by winning their home opener.

Norrkoping-Helsingborg
Norrköping is also a team that's alot stronger at home then away and might be able to pull off an inspired opening game but Helsinborg will probably prove themselves to be better.

 

I agree totally with iamalfred´s analysis and UFF DA`s predictions looks very realistic. I would also say that the two first games are very tricky. The third match is an interesting fixture where DIF will have a massive away support plus as they wrote DIF having a really good preseason and Pehrsson is building an interesting group of players. But sure Elfsborg with a lot of strength on most position are favourites. Experts are not impressed by the Elfsborg´s attacking part of the roster though and their offensive midfielders will have to compensate and score a lot of goals this season.


GAIS-Häcken: Derby-game. Difficult match to predict. Could go bothways. I agree with my Bigsoccer colleagues. 1x2


GIF Sundsvall-Kalmar: Probably somewhere around a x2 result.

Elfsborg-Djurgården: The prediction below by iamalfred and UFF DA could turn out right but off course Elfsborg are favourites. 1x(2). Very interesting game.

AIK-Mjällby: If AIK don´t win this one it would be a major upset according to most (including my collegues below). A steady 1 then.

Syrianska-Göteborg: Well just as iamalfred wrote SFC are as usual a club not very well organized neither in the club organisation as a whole nor in the squad itself. But they will be pumped up for this first round game and if there is a time during the season where they could upset it´s now. IFK Göteborg now have a lot to prove and numerous number of players are to be molded into a working unit. That always poses a thorough challenge. I would both hope and think IFK should be able to ride it out in the end. (x)2.

Malmö-Gefle: So here we have this ultradefensive outfit of Gefle spiced with a counterattacking game. Perhaps it will take some time for Malmö to break them down, but obviously Malmö are huge favourites in this one. They must surely win. Perhaps not with a massive margine. 1 and home-win.

Örebro-Åtvidaberg: Surely Örebro must be able to snatch this one against the tiny ÅÅF. But the newcomers are often more tricky to meet early on in the season and a the season wear on the more narrow rosters will be affected by injuries and suspensions. A home-win for the Närke side surely...1(x).

Norrköping-Helsingborg: Helsingborg are favourites but Norrköping can pose a challenge for the best sides everynow and then. Tricky team to meet, especially at their own turf. Let´s expect an away win, but look out for Norrköping who will also be inspired in the premiere. 1x2

It seems that we expect similar results. These are probably the favoured predictions all around. But expect one or two surprises. Especially the first two game look very tricky. Djurgården could definatly pose a threat too. Could Norrköping and Sundsvall pull something off? Well Allsvenskan as always a tough league to predict.

What must be taken into consideration in the AIK-Mjällby game is that Norra ståplats (the home supporter terrace) allready is more or less sold out. The size of such an AIK-audience is the kind of preassure that can totally break smaller teams like Mjällby.

 

Yes the advertisements are extremely annoying BUT if you open the large screen you wont get any advertisements well that's my experience with this site
