It appears that with the loss of the Amway jersey sponsorship also went Amway's sponsorship (under the Nutralite name) of the San Jose Earthquakes' training facility.

    GO SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES!!!

Reserve League Matches and Results [R]

The Quakes have their first Reserve match tomorrow against Portland. The match is at 11am at the training facility.

This will be a good chance for guys like Guvenisik and Gordon to get some playing time and get ready to play with the full team, and maybe Dawkins to get some more gametime to sharpen his play. With very few injuries, the Quakes have a lot of guys who probably will be available to play tomorrow.

I'm going to try to get away from work (I work only 10 minutes away from the facility) to see the match, not sure if I'll be able to. If anyone else goes, please share your observations on this thread.

Here's the full schedule for the Reserve team this year:

Tues Mar 27 11:00am Portland at San Jose
Sun April 8 11:00am Vancouver at San Jose
Tues May 8 11:00am San Jose at LA
Mon May 14 11:00am Chivas at San Jose
Fri June 8 11:00am San Jose at Chivas
Sun Aug 12 11:00am Seattle at San Jose
Sun Aug 26 6:00pm San Jose at Portland
Tues Sept 4 11:00am LA at San Jose
Mon Sept 10 11:00am San Jose at Vancouver
Tues Sept 25 7:00pm San Jose at Seattle

Can't believe that I missed the game. I have the schedule on my board and I am only 10 min from the field.

Any way, can anyone who were at the game report what they saw?

Jonas tweeted we won 1-0 by a 25 yard JMA strike, and Guvenisik limped off in the first half and didn't return.

Guess it's lucky for us that Bingham wasn't stopping goals in Nashville yesterday.

I'm bummed I wasn't able to get away to see the match today. Dawkins played the full match and Gordon played 60+ minutes, so that's a good sign for those two getting some playing time. Hopefully Guvenisik isn't hurt badly.

Looking at the match report, the only backup player on the roster who wasn't in the match was Hustedt (Newton didn't play but was on the bench). I wonder if that means he's hurt again (or still). He was supposedly training a few weeks ago.

There's a new trialist with the team, Kyle Kaveny played central defender for the match. From what I found about him online, he's a former UCSB player who has been in the lower divisions in Europe (Germany, Croatia) for a few years. here's a link to an article about him.

And here's a link to the Bigsoccer Yanks abroad thread about him. Not a lot of info, just shows the teams he was on the past couple of years.

Kind of disappointed that Dawkins's name didn't show up at all in the match report or Jonas's twitter account of the match, other than maybe moving positions when Sercan went out, even though he played the full match. Of course, working with very little info here.

Yeah, had the same thought. Would love to hear someone who was at the game talk about how Dawkins and Gordon and Garza played. Getting Dawkins in a position to contribute, whether as a starter or off the bench, will really help the Quakes. It's gotta be a bit tough on Dawkins to take - after being named to the 25 man roster for Tottenham, to end up playing in an MLS Reserve match a couple of months later is a big comedown. But hopefully he's sucking it up and working hard so he can make an impact for the Quakes this year.

The boys have been practicing shooting with Ramiro as their role model.
