Hi all! So, it's 2012 and the CSL will be kicking off for the year in a matter of months. Thought this would be a good idea to post for any pre-season news and speculation. The poll doesn't have all teams, as the league hasn't announced all teams yet, and the polls are capped at 16 options.
I've heard reports that Québec City and Kingston will be joining the league this year, along with Waterloo and Niagara United. I don't know if they'll be switching formats to a divisional system, but they probably will/should. I haven't heard of any clubs leaving the league, either.
Unfortunately, this league is horrible at getting information out in a timely fashion. This problem seems to extend to the teams themselves. For example, I'm in Kingston and am looking forward to the new Kingston team. There was a flurry of stuff in the local paper when the team was announced but since then nothing.
You can eliminate Capital City FC from the poll: they announced today they will NOT be in the CSL in 2012. Ottawabear
I have been to the website. It exists, which is about all you can say. It has no useful information. You can't buy tickets or even find out how much they will cost. This with the start of the season practically upon us.
Very disappointing. A second failure of this league in Ottawa. Ottawa is a city the league needs to be.
Indications are that the CCFC owner was only really interested in D2 and that he wasn't willing to stick with the CSL pursuing dominance as Canada's D3.
