something is off in the RSL universe as we start the new season - and I just figured it out - Boz man, boz man, where art thou?
Yes, great photos by Smack. Good work as well by 15 to 32. As far as Boz I am not sure, I went to his blog and it is no longer coming up. I get the GoDaddy screen. Also, has anyone seen this blog? www.underthecrossbar.com Has everyone seen it and I just missed it? That is possible.
Boz lays low. That's his style. Wish he would come back and shoot with me on the sidelines. Miss you bro. underthecrossbar is a great website. Good info and insight and the dude who runs it is top notch. He's on twitter and is very engaging with all of his followers.
nice pics, as always, smack. I love the one of Kreis up on his perch while the rest of the guys sit on the bench below.
LOL, this reminds me soooo much of when we would play at waterford, they had that sunken field with a small berm on the visiting side and no benches. my coach would make us sit down at the bottom of the berm near the sideline and he would get to sit in a nice folding camp chair, just like the one kreis is sitting in, up on top of the berm. old man kreis, all bundled up in his puffy coat sitting in his thrown, awesome pic.
I'm going to reprise me interview of media folks. I've got a pretty solid slate of questions, but I thought I'd ask here if anyone had a question they really want to ask of the folks who cover RSL. Let me know in the thread or by PM.
Good question, but I'm going to be talking to media folks (past interviewees include James Edward, Michael Lewis, and Jeremy Horton), so I'll ask how they feel about it.
Never too late, man! Smackadocious snaps. I like Willie's pimp stroll in this one: Oh, and I really thought I'd get called out for the lame LOTR reference I used a few posts ago. Perhaps it is expected? I need new material.
You quoting The Outsiders now? I swear that line is directed at Ponyboy in that book/movie. In fact, New Found Glory has a clip of it on one of their movie cover albums. Anyways...
RSL v the Crapids pix 100% Passion from Sebastian Velasquez and Sabo. Don't know why Big Soccer took down my game pix of the Montreal game, but you can scroll down and check those out too.
Caption for the previous photo "Who run bartertown?" What happened to Sebastian's eye? A practice elbow?
Ok, I finally posted the 2012 media interview (Bill Riley, James Edward, Jeremy Horton, and Michael Lewis). I had a lot of fun, and noticed some of my questions showing up in their work during the interview - not an accusation, but it'd be cool if I stirred up some thoughts that made it out into media land. Anyhoo, you can go read it in all it's 4000+ word glory: here -- hope y'all like it.
great read We seem to have a really down to earth crew covering our sports here. Also, Bill Riley is the best sports commentator in this state. I'm not just saying that because he covers my teams, either, the guy is just honestly good.
thanks. Yeah, they were awesome, not just in their answers (and prompt answers at that), but also in their offers to help out with things. We have a really great thing here with our local media folks, and it seems to be getting better as the years go by.
My favorite Bill Riley moment from the Colorado match after Olave made a poor pass out of the backfield: "A perfect pass. To the referee's assistant who was wide open on the sideline." I just wish I didn't have to listen to Dunseth spend the entire match talking about what our opponent needs to do to beat us.
I actually don't mind that Dunny does this. I learn from it, and it helps me know what to watch for in the game.
