Well, thanks for not being a smug derisive little prick with your response. What, aside from the word "orange," do any of those other songs have to do with Houston or dynamo? I fail to see the relevance.
“@dynamotheory: BBVA Compass Stadium has partnered with experienced stadium food company Levy Restaurants to provide concessions.” Yey for high priced chicken strips
This is great. Orange obviously doesn't rhyme with much, so let's just rhyme it with itself. Some of the best chants in Europe start are set to kids nursery rhymes like this one. Set to the tune of the YouTube above: O-R-A-N-G-E Brian Ching is always Orange, Houston is always Orange, I am Forever Orange O-R-A-N-G-E
AEG giving out deals to all their peps.. that chain doesn't even have resturants in Houston. The FO is worried about making $$$ not bringing in a Dp or making Houston the best SG atmosphere of the MLS.
I hope this doesn't become the usual pass-the-buck deal on complaints or suggestions on concessions, prices, beer selection, etc. like the Astros do at Minute Maid ("well, we have a long term contract with Aramark that we have to abide by . . . ). Since they seem to have some sort of joint-venture arrangement hopefully it will work well.
I really didn't mean to be derisive. Sorry for the offense. And I'm a bit fat these days so "little" is probably not quite right. Well, the other songs include in their refrain either "orange" or "Houston." As I said, Singin in the Rain is a great sing-a-long song. I don't really associate it with Houston, but thats just me. And since I'm not very active in the SG's I don't really think my opinion matters much on the topic. And if lyrics are modified like above -- then it seem boffo good to me.
I bring good news. As some of you may recall I've been trying to use my incredibly important and powerful post on the Dynamo Fan Advisory Board (please note facetiousness) to advocate for (some would say agitate) better beer selection at the new Dynamo Stadium. We were told today that BBVA Compass Stadium will have a wider variety of pours to select from including microbrews, premium brands, as well as mainstream brands. Overall choices would number from eight to ten. Exact brands is not yet determined -- but I'm convinced it will be a better situation than Robertson. Finally -- while I would love to take credit for any improvement that might be realized, I'm fairly confident that what happens would happen had I done nothing.
What's the story with the pitch, was looking at the web cam today and the pitch has many patches all over the place. Now with 49 days until the Grand Opening, will this create an issue?
The condition of the pitch, as seen in the web cam, certainly raises some eyebrows. It's been like that for several days now. I assumed they cut out patches that weren't growing well. If that's true, they are taking their time replacing it with new sod.
