    volvamos a MONTERO

    Re: montero

    1. Yes, but when he move out of mls.....he have already played when he played in Cali....i don't know why our coaches never see USA
    2. Colombia has a lot of good strikers....falcao , teo, jackson, adrian ramos, dorlan pabon, dayro are the ones of the NT in this moment......and there is another strikers in exelent level like ibarbo and muriel, that plays in italy that they don't received a called up too....rodallega from wigan and montaño from rennes, are also out of the NT........So it is a difficult competence to arrive there, when are players that are brilliant in another leagues and continental tournaments

Personally, when he was in our league, i thought that he was better than jackson, dayro, ramos, rodallega for me only falcao was above him ...and if he is playing on the same way, i will say the same.....

    Re: montero

He has been called up in the past and has even started a World Cup Qualifier.

The problem is he is playing in a League that just does not get much respect from the Federation or the Colombian public. There are also many good forwards in Europe and in Mexico who have not been given a chance who are rated higher than him in the pecking order.

I personally think he should be given a shot but doubt it will happen while he is still in MLS. I hope I am wrong and coach Pekerman calls him up for the heck of it.

    Re: montero

youtube Falcao(cost 47 million euro) and Jackson Martinez (wanted by porto and liverpool). We only play with 1 striker up front.

Too many people in front of him, he plays in a weaker league and doesn't exactly score more then guys playing in better leagues than him. I wish Fredy would move abroad and play more of a winger/midfielder role. His finishing is not that great.

Montero was in his prime before he moved to the MLS and should've go to a better league, maybe Europe, but he chose USA. He's a good player, but like Crzd said, there are too many players who deserve a chance a head of him.

Montero is a lot like Rodallega. Both have everything to be perfect strikers but their finishing is pretty bad. When does Montero's contract expire? I can see him leaving on free transfer to a 2nd div English or Spain when he is 26ish

No way is he Liverpool material. He hasn't even scored that much this season. Ajax could fix a couple of his issues hopefully. If he goes to Liverpool he is just going to be loaned to a 2nd division team

I doubt that. I think he'll be a great asset to Luis Suarez, Montero doesn't play a top striker, he's plays as a 2nd striker or even a Creative Attacking Midfielder. So to say he hasn't scored much is abit harsh.

They are the new Udinese but at lease Udinese actually buys 1/4 of the players they are linked to

They are owned by the people who own the Red Soxs so they probably want popular MLS players to get interest.... not sure. Teo scored a good goal on them, and Jackson actually deserves to go to a team like Liverpool.

I don't see how he would get the workers visa as he never plays for Colombia and hasn't really set the MLS on fire. I can see him going to a 2nd division EPL team.
