I've never wanted to boo a newcomer until now. Burns - cut ties with this a-hole now and focus on buying a DP-worthy #9 this summer. No more "we came really close" shit. Spend the money, or get the F out.
I believe given the cap calculations posted here, Lekic and Caraglio would have both fit under the cap with this current roster if Caraglio was given the proper DP tag. So the Revs, by trying to save themselves maybe $400-500k (and their seeming need to be able to cut a player who was going to make $200k max), have only themselves to blame for this mess.
Moderators, please merge this into the old thread. I already despise Moreno so much that I don't even want to see a second thread wasted on him.
I kinda feel bad, because for all we know, this could indeed be a legit personal issue. But at this point in the storyline ...
NFLPatriot this is an excellent summary of the Moreno saga. However, seeing everything in one place just called my attention to how horribly embarrassing this situation is.
Moreno gets the same leeway on this that the Revs do on the repeated DP excuses and that the Boy Who Cried Wolf got on the....wolf. NONE All of you who threatened not to renew and renewed anyway--what was that based on exactly?
And once again the FO's minimal information policy doesn't help. They couldn't have mentioned this a few days ago? Maybe even be more specific about the personal issue?
That's because that wasn't the original plan. The original plan was probably to take immediate effect and get him here mid-February. They most likely just re-negotiated it to March 1 after the pursuit of legal action for breach of contract. To wit: when the Revs threatened legal action how could Moreno breach a contract that didn't start for another month? I know its all conjecture, but it makes alot of sense to me. March 1 was a fake date they set to try and save face. They failed. Again.
"April Fool's! we made up Jose Moreno, he's not even real! meet your new #9, New England... RONALDINHO!!!!!!!"
