Lol stupid, you're crazy if you even remotely thought they had a chance in either of the last two CL final appearances and you didn't think the final should have been a whole different pairing. Like i said fool yourself with that, but in all honestly they play like horse shit. They have that Non existent midfield, and passing the ball to rooney is the pinnacle of fergies tactical prowess.

That sadly is enough to carry a team in knock out style cup play, yet it is still undeniable that team has been irrelevant in Europe for the last few years other than the fact that they participate and the announcers still propel their name with memories of the phenom that they once had and was the one deciding factor between the shit they are now, and a competitive team they were when they had him(ronaldo)....lately their feats have consisted of beating a Cinderella story shalkes and getting punked by teams that know how to play futbol:rolleyes:.

Bilbao is a good team, you know that.

We have been champions of England 4 of the last 5 years, and been relatively succesful in the CL without winning more than once in that same time frame. We lost to the best team on the planet. No shame in that.

So in the 3 finals that we have been to, all them were because of lucky draws? Right, remember we beat barcelona on our way to winning it in 08.

    ,

Stop speaking with your hate, I mean heart, and start using your head.

You have a short memory. In our 3 trips to the CL final recently, you need to look up the teams we've had to beat to get to the final.

When you take the hate out of your heart, and really start to use your brain, then we can discuss this further.

Talk about easy draws, you guys got ********ing Bayern Leverkusen.

MU is still a top team. Chicharito is one of the reasons why, he's up there in my book at the top of the roster of starters along with guys like Wayne Rooney, for most and maybe all games, but it's really up to the coach.

There's no disputing that MU is a top team just because it's not undefeatable. That would be silly, how often does anyone on these forums believe that teams finish their seasons undefeated?

Some Man U fans are beyond retarded saying they lost cause players gave two shits about the competition hahaha, so I guess I didn't just see them get played off the pitch lol, just glad Ch14 wasn't involved in this ass ramming. They need new talent that much is obvious Anderson is average and always injured, Giggs and Scholes are almost senior citizens,Park is past it, basically they need at the very least one top C Mid and maybe even a defender Evra makes alot of mistakes and Rio is old, all this of course assuming they want to remain a top club and challenge for the CL if not then this team is decent enough emphasis on "decent"

Like we never saw Cheech play his part in the last "ass ramming" versus Ajax, or was it Basel, no Benfica, or.........

Good to hear the doubters being so loud right now though, as I expect short term memory loss will be in full effect a few years from now, but I guess if Cheech isn't over rated garbage, his team should be

Few years from now huh? I don't see it unless they buy, I don't see any of their young promises getting past being good prospects ,Cheech has been the best addition to the team since he moved to old trafford but they still need other key pieces , if I were SAF I would just go 433 with Rooney, Cheech, Welbeck , Nani, Valencia,Young,Carrick(or whatever combo in the middle just no Anderson and your healthiest 4 in the back it's worth a shot since his other line-ups havent exactly been tearing the league up either, I also believe in Player rotation but I feel this team is over rotated no gelling whatsoever, blame it on injuries or whatever but still.

This is a Cup tournament, upsets are bound to happen, if this keeps happening year after year...than we can talk about MU regressing. As of now we're talking about team that had different priorities from the beginning.

Unfortunately this season the Europa league has accentuated as very similar situation to when MU last crashed out of the Champions League early. This time though, the present team has actually shown better domestically than the last major rebuild SAF has had too endure.

Last time it was 2003- 05, with a young Rooney and Ronaldo being brought in to form the focal point of a new team. MU during this period were as unconvincing as you will have ever seen, finishing third in the league twice, and not looking much better in the UCL either. It took four years before they were seriously competitive again, and everybody seemed to find it hilarious without much thought to what was being built.

We all know how that rebuilding faze turned out in the end, but this present side shouldn't be in the wilderness for such a frustrating length of time. Besides Liverpool, MU's the EPL's only other serious club at the international level when strong, but even with the oil and oligarch money hindering the natural evolution of MU/English football through the last few years, unlike Liverpool, SAF has continued to gradually move forward in the way the club typically operates and understands.

I know enough about football to understand peoples simplistic joy at seeing a club with the stature of MU fail during such periods of time, but you would be pretty stupid to think it's the start of the demise of one of the most consistent managers in world football. New school managers leave clubs before their best teams naturally break up, SAF simply takes the ruff in the knowledge he can bring better things to come. So with SAF in charge, Cheech is at a club that will always know were it's heading, with the next few years leaving doubters having to find new reasons to hate on him, or his team.

I dont think Anyones hating on the team or Cheech for that matter , were just stating the obvious and yes I do think they will stay relevant IF they buy, of all the young mids they have none will flourish they are average at best.

Young average mids? I'm guessing that you mean Cleverly, Anderson, and Pogba? Between these three, two will go on to be quality internationals, with the third either wasting away, or becoming a late bloomer. All three are under 22, in a club that tends to use players in the mid twenties+ to run the CM. I don't see what more any of them could have done this season considering Cleverly and Anderson haven't been fit at any consistent rate, while Pogba is still a talented teenager with a uncertain future.

SAF will buy at the end of the season because he has to, but thanks mostly to a ridiculous amount of injury throughout the club, people are too quick to right off young players that have been asked to play more than SAF would have wanted this season. Cheech has been a obvious example, and victim, of this seasons inconsistent first 11. This has seen him and Wellbeck share a starting role next too Rooney, so far only showing glimpses of what could be, rather than cementing their status as the world class talents most people suspect them to be.

In a season of transition, a lot of these players just couldn't raise their game against pecker wood teams looking to take a huge footballing scalp, but MU have been one of the most consistent large Euro clubs outside of Barcelona by doing things their own way, against a backdrop of a lot unhealthy domestic competition. The money involved in the top 4 EPL spots has created a monster where every season just seems to be a new stupid conflict of interests. 2011/12's stupidity happens to come from a club where it's owner will do stupid sh*t like pay the huge wages for one of his major signings to play for another quality team within the same league .

SAF once again will find what he needs, but you have to acknowledge this kind of ridiculous challenge MU have to face when targeting the things to build domestic/European relevant teams.

I think things have changed drastically enough in the last 2 or 3 years that they cannot continue to do things their own way like they have and expect to stay competitive with the best teams in Europe. Even if they had a youth setup like Barcelona's, they would still need to buy.

I think one major addition to the current squad would put them back in the top 3 or 4 teams in Europe. They need a good Spanish midfielder. Javi Martinez or Ander Herrera.

As for the getting knocked out of the Europa League, I don't think anyone in Manchester for either team will lose sleep given how tight of a PL race it is.

I'm not saying they threw the match because I think Bilbao was clearly the better team outright, but I think Fergie knew he wasn't putting out his best possible side...

Everyone has a right to their opinion but I just don't see Cleverley or Anderson becoming anything Anderson especially he's a shit midfielder always injured and has no vision, Pogba I haven't seen enough to judge but I wouldn't bank on him being a top intl mid.

SAF will buy, he's already made that perfectly clear, but people tend to jump the gun in writing off players to quickly too. SAF will definitely hope to fix the squad by buying a CM player who's ready to do it all right now, but in a MU way he's a manager who also understands the growth of potential in players from within the club too. It's the only reason a player like Cheech can have a chance to succeed on the stage he's at right now. Cheech went to MU as a potential prospect, not a finished article, and even with the doubters breathing down his neck, due to his mentality and the correct guidance, he'll continue to grow into a legit world class player as time goes on.

If MU as a club brake away from what they do, they would be no different to a host of plastic EPL clubs that will only stay relevant as long as the investors keep burning money on their football fueled bonfires. Beyond the fully realised Ajax inspired Barca revolution, things haven't changed enough to make MU any less relevant by living on their own type of club philosophy.

But how many players under the age of 22 run the midfield at Europe's elite clubs? I'm not talking sub appearances, or one or two consecutive starts, I'm talking about playing every game at the heart of the elite clubs that are known around the globe for regularly competing for the games major trophies.

At the age 22 or under, it takes rare and special talents to run a midfield for a R.Madrid, Milan, Bayern, MU, Barca, Liverpool, etc...(sorry to the names I left out). Most of the time, the pressure of history and future consistency at these clubs can stifle the best of senior pro's. So while I fully agree that the past few seasons have been hit and miss for MU midfield consistency, I also understand why SAF hopes to develop potential talent into the MU way, alongside buying ready made world class quick fixes.

Your looking for a very specialised type of player to replace the role Scholes, Xavi, Pirlo etc... play for their teams, and that's what MU need to find.

Man U need to buy at least 2 high quality CMs for next year. It´s obvious that´s where the weakness lies. I actually like Cleverley (Anderson is a lost cause, IMO), but if there´s one thing he´s proven is that he´s injury prone and Pogba is much too young still. Carrick is the only decent CM they have right now and he´s not extraordinary.

Also, they need some depth at the fullback spots. Evra gets worse every game and Rafael is not mentally ready for a bigtime club. If Valencia and Nani are going to be injured every game they might also need to get a winger. Park was awful this year.

Chich and Welbeck have stepped up. They just don't get service. Rooney is the one who hasn't played the way they want him to even if he's scoring a bunch of goals.

That's what i mean....after awhile fergie might start to think he needs a forward that battles it out for his goals.

BTW Gotze would be perfect....but the guy seems a little light, so he might be better suited for arsenals touch play.
