I don't think either of them are horrible there considering the fact that they're not really fullbacks. The real problem is that anyone considers them or uses them there frequently.

I know that. I was just comparing him in the different positions he plays to other players.

I read a statistic that he is the 9th most efficient striker in goals per game of this past decade

his goal rate per game is staggering....he averages a goal every other game for club....and almost almost a goal a game for bulgaria

    amazing

its really a shame that that he is 30 (i think) because otherwise I would have loved to take him from united

Alaba looks like a terrific left back option. Who knows, maybe we can finally solve this predicament.

Even if not for the long term, but his chemistry with Ribery is vital and Robben is much more dangerous when Lahm is behind him. I think it could work, at least for the rest of the season.

We'll see how it goes, just good to have someone help at the back. Again,a youth product, the foundation for long term success.

I know is too early to tell, but it's possible that we solved the fullback problem with Alaba ??

Why not? Alaba is an excellent LB, we have Lahm RB and Rafinha on the bench, consider that Boa could play RB or LB, so we need addictions als CB's but dont know who could make the difference, sure not Dante, we'd need Hummels......And we need a new 2nd keeper cause Butt is at the end his career,,,,,,

My only fear is that, as soon as DvB is Healthy he will come back to the starting XI ... :(

Why? Daniel is our best defender so I hope he'll be back soon, we need a change 4 Boa and Bads they cant play all the remaining matches, next year we'll sign a new CB I hope cause Breno too is slipping away and at end of contract, like van Buyten (but I hope we extend with Daniel)

I see Alba has a short term solution at fullback. Long term I see him more has a cm. Maybe he's our next great utility player

Remember that 4 example Badstuber started his career als CM and then switched CB so David is a CM who could switch LB, is totally ready 4 that, otherwise we have to get a new LB but remember Lahm plays that position, so better a new RB......

So, our players at end career of end contract:
    Butt, need new 2nd keeper
    v.Buyten, extend!
    Breno, raus so new CB
    Pranjic, who cares?
    Tymo, extend!
Olic, extend or find a new striker

Then, Petersen can be loaned, Contento....dont know but Heynckes doesnt consider him......

    My dream team:

    NEUER

    LAHM-BOATENG-HUMMELS-ALABA(NEW LB)

    GUSTAVO(TYMO, KROOS)-SCHWEINI(ALABA)

    ROBBEN(SHAQ, KRASIC)-KROOS (MÜLLER)-RIB

    GOMEZ(BERBATOV)

Remember we earned 40 millions € cause the champions league:rolleyes:

With Schweini, Kroos and Gustavo. You mean in about 4 - 5 seasons?

Hummels again? He has very little motivation to leave BVB and come back to FCB. If BVB treats him fairly and extends his contract again I can't see that he has any reason to change sides again. He's got CL play and a shot at the BL title and all the attention he needs for the NT.

There have to be more realistic targets at CB for us to consider.
