i expect kleber to be there, simply because, we don't really have much forward depth at the U23 level. i think william jose also stands a good chance, provided he keeps up the play in the Paulista.

other than that, we dont really have many options. it's quite possible that we take an over 23 player as well. perhaps fred.

ehhhh only reason why I'd be skeptical about William Jose, is because its the Paulistao, which isn't a good measuring stick as to how good he really is. I'm pretty sure some of us here can score a Monte Azul.

man this is a terrible time for Brazil.. no 9. Seems like everyone's eggs are in Damiao's basket. Hopefully he doesn't pull a Keirrison.

well the olympic roster is made up of only 18 players so i doubt they would need more than two center fowards on the roster.. damiao and pato should be enough you only play one at the time you need more wingers and AMs then Center forwards but if anything kleber, dentinho, alan kardec are other options there

Pato is sucha big question mark.. He can never stay healthy and he's so out of form.. I also heard rumbling of him possibly being out of favor as well at Milan.

The 3 strikers you named.... You cannot be serious???

Dentinho is so Average, Alan Kardec is just flat out garbage, and Kleber.. does Kleber even play??

Besides, Willian Jose seems to be the guy who would be the next option if anything happens to Damiao or if Pato doesn't get called-up.

My team, avoiding over-23s and/or europe based players as much as possible since it will be hard to convince the teams:

Rafael; Danilo, Dedé, Juan, Alex Sandro; Fernando, Oscar, Ganso, Lucas; Neymar and Damião.

Subs: Gabriel; Galhardo, Romário, Marquinhos, Gabriel Silva; Rômulo, Elkesson, Douglas Costa, Dudu, Giuliano; Wellington Nem, Willian José.

Very strong team, IMO, in every department. COuld very well be our main team :D

Casemiro has looked so flat as a player ever since the U-20 WC ended... I also heard he has built up quite an ego. Plus he's been on bench 24/7

i hope ronaldinho does'nt go to the olympics. someone needs to pull the plug on him. he was such a let down as captain in the last olympics. i heard he partied like a maniac and it showed in the games.

seeing douglas costa's name is a step in the right direction...

I for one am pretty excited about watching Brazil in the Olympics, and I'm really worried that Ronaldinho is going to ruin it. He's been using his name to try to force his way into the team, but he doesn't seem to care enough to give a solid effort or really even take it seriously. I don't understand his motivation.

I'm not sure why Mano called up a list of 52 players that could potentially go to the Olympics. Why? What good does this list do? Olympics is 4 months away. Once again this jack@ss does something idiotic.

Thats exactly what I was thinking. Makes no sense at all. And it alienates all the young guys that weren't listed.

casemiro is a big loss because he has been dominant in the last 2 years since hernanes left for lazio, he stepped up really well in hernanes old position. right now hernanes is the most in form brasileiro in the world. he should be starting next to lucas in the midfield. ganso is too slow and is not even starting for santos because he has been so bad for 3 years.

Well I guess you need to update yourself... I won't say anything about Casemiro because I don't watch São Paulo as frequenty as a São Paulo fan, so I will let them speak about this matter... But as a Santos fan, that watches every game we play, I can say that not only Ganso is an unquestionable starter for us, he's been ripping teams apart in 2012. His work rate also improved a thousand-fold, he is a important "ball-thief" in the midfield, believe it or not.

Not only that, but he was also very important in the few matches he played in 2011's Libertadores ( he was crucial for us in a decisive game in the group stage, we had to win or we would be out of the competition, and both Neymar and Elano were suspended. IIRC it was against Cerro Porteño), and in our 2010 conquests (Paulistão, specially in the final vs Santo André, and Copa do Brasil)... Dunno where did you get that "not even starting for santos because he has been so bad for 3 years" idea, but it's not true... SInce 2009 the only times when he didn't start was when he was getting rested, or because of his extensive injuries.

Outside of the pitch he made some stupid decisions, that I must agree, and it hurt his image with us santistas, but inside the pitch he is one of our most important players, together with Neymar, Borges , Arouca and Rafael.

I hate reading articles with quotes from Brasilian coaches and bosses. They treat the fans like they are retards and cause more confusion than they would if they just kept their mouth shut.

Why publicly state that Mano must give him the player list 2 days before it goes public if he insists he wont change or influence the list? Why even mention it if you aren't going to state the real reason or motive behind it?

The only thing I can take from everything he said is that he's lying through his teeth, and Mano is on a VERY short leash.

I agree. Directors/administrators should keep away from the selection process and do what they are paid to do. Wanting a preview of the list suggests to me that he wants to exercise a right of veto if he does not like a name or two in there - and 'suggest' the inclusion of someone not in there!

Love our group draw. (Egypt, New Zeland and Belarus). Possible Spain matchup in the quarterfinals or semifinals.

I think it’s a little too early to come up with our starting XI but overall this is probably one of our best squads. It will all depend on who Mano brings that’s over 23.

I don't like Rafael, I'd much rather have Danilo playing RB tbh

your team looks good in attack but maybe a little bit too much attacking and weak in defense

With Lucas and Neymar helping defense. If this team win the golden medal, for sure will be the same attack formation on World Cup, its really really strong. We will need and DM, Sandro isnt safe enough. Maybe Lucas Leiva(Liverpool) will be a good choice. And of course, brazil NEED a high potential GK immediately. I dont think Rafael is good enough to WC, to Olympics maybe works, but to 2014...dunno.
