Btw guys what's our best possible draw now??

We have aopel, marseille, benicia and possibly Napoli
Then there is milan, Madrid and Barcelona..

So we can have 4/7 chance we can get a "lesser" side for 1/4 finals..

Let's pray that it happens, then anyone else but Madrid or Barcelona until the finals..

Once again Gomez goals were what took the air out of Basel.

After Mullers goal, A goal from Basel would have won but after Gomez's goals they would have needed 5 goals :D

Lahmfan, I hope you played the lottery today!:D

I thought we'd win 2-0, but never 7-0. Yes, RibRob are back in business and firing on all cylinders. No better time to get back in form than late in the season to make a run at the treble. The Mez too. He can't stop scoring. The things he does with his head (must be the hair). Mueller was good but not his spectacular self. Just think, if he gets back to his 2010 form, we will be unstoppable.

Nice to see Schwein back in action and looking good. Couldn't ask for more. But I will in the next round.

Basel was bound to found out. We beat them in the playoff and in the knockout stage. Was there ever any doubt?

Is this score a message aimed towards Barcelona? I didn't hear Danke from Leverkusen! How'd we ever lose to them anyway?

well at least..good news for Ribery..she is no longer underage.
But I think Franck has had enough of his stupidity and has moved on. You can tell by the way he plays and the way he STFU about himself.

And by the way he bearhugs everybody in sight. Think he starts bearhugging refs next!

Assuming Napoli get past Chel$ki, I'd love to beat on them again.

    FC Ba7el ?!?! :D:D:D

I'm Speechless ... Didn't post anything before because I was occupied getting drunk !!

Now is't wait for friday ... Of course I want the likes of Benfica, Apoel or Marseille, But if we are to be draw against a Top team, I would like that team to be Madrid. Milan always beat us don't matter how good we are and play Barça right now would suck, for obvious reasons ...

Shaqiri looks like a good player, but he was totally outdone. Alaba looks like a very stable defensive option who can do a great deal going forward. His movement caused Basel all kinds of problems, and gave Ribery plenty of room to really excel. I could not ask for more from Alaba really, just that he maintains focus and doesnt neglect his defensive issues because Basel/Hoffenheim are nothing compared to real quality.

Alaba plays well with Ribery, and Lahm on the right is working out.

Gomez had 2 good chances saved. Their goalie had his moments. Had he not saved Gomez's backheel, that would have been goal of the week.

    BTW, Muller speaks english!

Haven't been around here for a few months, but had to come back and say that this was the most fun I've had watching a Bayern game in a long time. It's just amazing how good we can be when Robben is engaged and lively and fit.

That is incredible. IMO the only thing stopping Gomez from becoming the best striker in the world is the big gap between his best and worst.

coincidentally, that is also the only thing preventing me from being the best striker in the world.

Messi is a whole different type of player. I shouldnt have said the best striker but the best finisher in the game.

    What a result.

    What a performance.

This is what this Bayern team is about... relentless attacking.

Who here agrees with me that all the pieces seemed to fall into place once Lahm switched and Heynckes utilized Alaba at LB?

Could be coincidence but I think not. Alaba/Ribery relationship is spot on brilliant; now Robben and Lahm can rekindle that amazing partnership down the right.

Gustavo still brings more energy and pace to the center. I have missed that.
Boateng has down well to sort out the CB pairing with Bads.
Kroos deserves credit as well for simplifying his role... love his taking shots from range as well.
Ribery is on a whole other level right now. Truly a blessing to watch play.
Gomez will score if fed the ball. Mueller is a better partner with him than Kroos as we have seen.
Robben is hitting his stride and making a difference again. Fun to watch.

    Neuer is bored.

    I am not.
