Messi is the first player ever to score in 6 consecutive CL away games

Messi is now the South American with most goals (45) in European competitions, surpassing Peru's Claudio Pizarro

Lionel Messi's last 11 CL goals were not scored at Camp Nou.

Messi is now the all-time top scorer in the UCL knock-out phase with 19 goals, surpassing Shevchenko and Raul

Messi equalled Litmanen (95-96), Henry (2002-2003) and Crespo (2002-2003) as players who scored most CL away goals (7) in one season.

    Holy shit

Here is MESSI's goal. I would like people to pay attention to the replay where the camera only zooms on MESSI and you see him running and getting away from the defender. And then remember that this was in the 88th minute of the match.

If he had scored that 1st goal in the video, I probably would of had to taken a shower because it was so dirty. I was watching it LIVE, I scratched my head for a second(I really did, itchy scalp) and said damn, that would of been super nice. He has so many moves that leave people in the dust.

I recall this, Roberto Carlos got two broken fingers because of this.

I believe so too. The players on the team now pretty much know each other for a while and have either played together while in the youth teams or since 2010.

Messi played with Zabaleta, Aguero, Lavezzi, Banega, Garay, Romero, Di Maria, Gago and Mascherano either in the youth teams or at the Olympics or both. So they all know each other since atleast 2008. Some as far back as 2005. I would think they're all buddies.

No more "old guard", if you want to call them that. Cambiasso, Demichelis, Zanetti, Diego Milito, Gabriel Milito... that's alot of dead weight that is gone. It's time to move on and I think we're slowly seeing that.

Which is why I agree with you that this is Messi's team. He's surrounded by friends and I'm assuming he's comfortable playing with them. Throw in Higuain (who seems to have a good connection with Messi) and Fernandez and you have a pretty solid group of players.

    Congratulations to Lionel Messi!

This is what I've been talking about for a while now. Lio seems to be a very humble and respectful kid. He wouldn't allow himself to impose on the previous selection of players. These players are more his equals and contemporaries than anyone else. That's why he's starting to shine because he can feel like just one of the guys.

Argentina will now start to return to our place in the pecking order. All we need now is a proper defensive coordination and we will be good!

Messi became the first player to ever score 5 goals in a single Champions League match today.

He is also now only 8 goals away from becoming Barcelona's top scorer of all time! Grande pulga!

Messi is amongst the greatest. Look at his numbers in amount of games played. They are ridiculous. Messi is about to be top scorer in the CL for a 4th straight year. No on can talk about the weakness of La Liga when that happens. The greats get the advantage because of WC wins, but I believe Messi is changing that.

Well you certainly didn't like him before. Just sit back and watch a player who will be remembered for a long time. Y gracias a dios que es Argentino.
