I thought they did OK for their first ever match at a different level. As expected the Japanese were a class above and scored a good goal, fortunate for their other one. Brisbane offered practically nothing in the final third which I wasn't surprised by. Defensively typical. A great experience and something to start from and work on. Looking forward to the next match.
Nasaf - Al Jazira match is postponed coz of bad weather. Probably the match will be played tomorrow. just an hour before there was no snow, but now http://championat.uz/uz/news-8/14429.html

Did AFC change their rule from 3+1 to 4+1 starting from 2012 AFC CL? http://www.soccerway.com/matches/20...mpions-league/al-rayyan-sc/esteghlal/1232843/ A few months ago, I read the news that Qatari sponsors were pressuring AFC into allowing more quotas for foreign players in AFC CL. I thought it was never going to happen. But, Qatar did manage to pull it off I guess? If AFC indeed changed to 4+1 then China, Qatar and UAE clubs will benefit greatly. Take a look at Qatar's Lekhwiya SC, for instance, they have 9 foreign players registered.
Adelaide- 2nd last in the A-League manage to win away from home, and the Meows (Roar) 2nd in the league, can't win at home. Has the world gone topsy turvy?
Very odd result, wasn't expecting Adelaide to get anything. To be fair though, Tokyo look like a far superior team to Bunyodkor.

That.....and also Gamba's first game under a new coach (who replaced Nishino who coached them for 9-10 years). I wouldn't expect too much from Gamba this season. And that result is probably an indicator.
And here is Aria Hasegawa's goal against Brisbane Roar. I think Carlos Queiroz should call him up for the upcoming Team Melli "Hopefuls" camp, to give him a try. He's been scoring some goals recently, and he seems like a decent finisher. I don't know the in's and out's, but Japan don't allow duel-citizenship. Which means he probably is only a Japanese citizen (he may have not relinquished any possible Iranian citizenship, but probably did). Which means it'd take naturalisation to make him Iranian and play for Iran NT.
don't know anything about him. Was he born in Japan? I think even if he was born in Japan to an Iranian father, the Iranian govt still considers him an Iranian. Iran also doesn't have dual citizenship. I have no idea how these things work, maybe Mani can shed some light. I'm interested to know if he even wants to play for Iran.
Iranian citizenship is "the indisputable right" of every person of Iranian blood, on the basis of parentage, meaning that, based on the the Iranian constitution, you would automatically be considered an Iranian citizen if your parent is Iranian, regardless of where you were born and what other citizenship you may or may not hold. In other words, in the eyes of the Iranian law, you're always an Iranian and subject to Iranian laws from the moment you're born until the day you die no matter what. Now, Iran does not recognize dual citizenship. but they do allow/tolerate it. For example, many former/current Team Melli players/staff are dual citizens, Daei and Ghotbi are American citizens, while Dejagah, Mahdavikia, and Zandi are German citizens. So in Aria's case, he is an Iranian citizen who can get an Iranian passport in less than 10 days, unless he goes to Iran and put in a formal request to give up his Iranian citizenship.
