Is there any word on the status of finding a new striker?

A lot of names are circulating, but you know the rumor mill....

We'll miss Barcos, but I wish him the best of luck in Palmeiras. One day he'll wear our colors again.

From Racing Santander? Saw him playing couple of times. Good with his head but not spectacular.

Liga played amazingly well yesterday. It's just our first game and it's a friendly but it was just the way i've been wanting Liga to play again. That fine touch i haven't seen in years where we dominate ball possession and pressured hardcore the moment we didn't have the ball. Mendez was spectacular. Cheme is coming in HUNGRY, he was a bit off in some plays, but with playing time that dude will wreck this year. Our ball control was sick, it was like this team had beeen playing for a while. We might have lost Barcos, but that midfield is just insane. I wish we had played like this last year. Reminded me a bit of the 08 team but without Guerron and Vera. Lots of creativity in the mid, i'm in love with this squad we built this year. Hopefully Nahuellpan does well and Bieler gets back to scoring and we'll be unstoppable.

nice jersey! great game. glad to see Edison back. Manso needs a solid month of fitness and he'll be in tip-top shape. Once we get Nahuelpan and Bieler, that team is insane.

With nahuelpan, Liga has a knack for making argentine strikers alot better. Hopefully he works out but i was impressed wwith Luna. Holy shit, he looked solid.

there will be an update today. I'm sure by later today or tomorrow we'll know. So far it's a verbal agreement and he just needs to sign.

Yeah, once the agent gets involved, verbal agreements are tough to hold on to. In any case, I still think he'll come to Liga.

Nahuelpan is supposedly gonna be in Quito this week to sign. He rejected other offers such as Flamengo, Arg. Juniors, and Penarol.

On another random note, Miller is on his way to Chivas USA.

And Oswaldo Minda had this to say about Miller:
“Conozco a Juan Pablo Ángel, Alejandro Moreno y ahora Miller. Me da mucha alegría que lo hayan incorporado a Bolaños, porque yo siempre dije que después de Edison Méndez es el jugador con más talento del país en ese puesto”, finalizó.

Guess i'm not the only one who see's that talent in him.

You are not the only that see's talent in him. Ivan kaviedes had all the talent in the world. I can be here all day and talk about Ecuadorean talent. But One thing is having it and another is using it. If all these players had the Professionalism, Character and will power like Antonio Valencia, Ecuador would have been in the last World Cup and probably make the next one in Brasil, No sweat.

Does anyone know when the 2012 Liga jerseys are going to be released? Gonna buy me some stuff from marathon-sports.com to support them.

I couldn't agree more on the part about professionalism and character. Valencia is a true stand-out in that category. Along with guys like Reasco, Mendez, Noboa, and I'll even put Cazares on that list even though he's really young. Especially at younger ages, you really see kids wanting to come back to Ecuador, or start talking about nonsense like the food being different or not having friends and wanting to go back. There really is a mentality gap that needs to improve, and I think it will.....

They'll probably be released in the upcoming weeks. Sooner rather than later.

dude, F*CK Grupo Sonda!! They better let us keep Chucho Bolanos AT LEAST for this year or they can eat a f*ckin D. Wtf is this I'm hearing about Bolanos going back to Brazil. They already agreed to loan him to us for this season. Esteban Paz even said Liga was trying to extend the amount of time Bolanos could stay in Liga. This team will be just like last years by the end of the season (beat down, filled with injuries, and a lack of good subs) if we don't keep the team we already have. We lost Carlos Tenorio and Miller Bolanos. We Can't let go of Luis Bolanos. He brings speed to the team.

Well, Bieler is back...that's great news! Hat trick today. Hidalgo put one in, and Cevallos did too. I heard Manso had a good game as well. I'm waiting to post a highlight of the game, but it's still not uploaded to Youtube.

Great win today. Bieler has 4 goals in 3 games. Sure, it's against weak opponents, but take this into consideration: he needs to build that confidence up.

    Bieler:

4 goals in 3 games in Ecuador
8 goals in 36 games in Argentina.

Let see how long it takes him to beat that tally.

Open up the wallet and pay! You guys sold him to sonda and made lots of money, now you want them to loan him back to you on the cheap? Jesus, with an attitude like this, I'd be shocked if anyone else bought any of your footballers. Sonda's wants to at least break even on their investment which I don't think they have yet. Luis Bolanos has been a flop internationally and we all know why.

Hidalgo had a great game yesterday. It was his great pass with the outside of his foot that released Ambrosi on the wing. Cevallos then scored from Ambrosis cross to make it 1-0.

Manso was spraying passes left and right. His range of passing is amazing.

I also liked how Gamez brought speed on the right wing and was constantly available. Good game for him also.

We got suspended for 3 games for the death of that kid in our stadium. F*ckin idiots!! they should ban those type of people for life from all stadiums and send them to jail for committing crimes. I'm suprised people get away with these things in Ecuador it shocks me. And on top of that the sanctions for causing diasters and havoc in the stadium are minor. If we lose any points blame it on that idiot who committed the crime. Feel bad for the kid that died though, i heard it was over a beer. R.I.P to him. that's something so stupid to die for.
