Which relatively unknown Scots born player or players under the age of 23 has the potential : in your opinion : to go on to become the next million~pound~plus star to come out of Scottish football in the mould of Charlie Adam ~ Craig Gordon or Danny Wilson in 2012?
Yes , I agree Forrest looks very promising and would probably fetch a few million if he was sold to an English side right now. Any other player at Celtic at the moment that you think could emerge as a potential multi million £££££££'s player this year? There was a young Scottish player sold to Chelsea last year by the name of Feruz? What about him? Can he become a multi £££££'s pound star in the Premiership?
Feruz wasn't sold to Chelsea. he walked out on Celtic after they helped his family gain asylum here and nurtured him from a young boy. Of the current crop of young Scots Craig Mackay Steven looks a good prospect.
And if he hadn't been such a good player, Celtic would have dumped him like they and every other club do to hundreds of young players every year. Get off your high horse.
How about Dundee United's Johnny Russell? I've only really seen him on the BBC's footie highlights but he seems to be a tidy player. Decent control, technique and instinct. The most recent thing I saw was his goal in the Inverness game. Managed to twist past a couple of defenders and place the ball just inside the far post past Ryan Esson. Thoughts?
Russell looks like a decent player but I'd be surprised if he made went on to make a big impact at international level. Scot Allen who's at West Brom but on loan at Portsmouth has been getting rave reviews. Was at Dundee Utd and was on loan at Forfar for a bit last season. Dundee Utd seem to be ruing the decision not to get him signed up. I was impressed by Forrest's performance for the national team against Slovenia.
Got to agree. The goal you mention was a wee bit special. Possibly not quite ready for the Premiership just yet but definitely has the potential to play there if he can improve his all round game and consistency by a few degrees.
