I saw this headline on the front page of Yahoo, so I figured it's worth posting.

I mean, there's still at least 4 years until he's eligible for a YNT so I'm not sure how appropriate this is for this forum, but there is the Hawaiian kid thread so...

Also there's already a 6 page thread in Yanks Abroad where it may be more appropriate:
    https://www.bigsoccer.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1712095
but I mean, if everyone wants it, then have at it.

PS It's a little sad Yahoo can't even get the kid's name right...it's in the title of the video!

They signed a Canadian 9 year old in 2010 as well....they are globetrotting!

The Canadian is a Canadian-Mexican. I'd be surprised if (a) he makes Barca's first team, and (b) if he did chose to play for Canada. Sadly.

Good luck to both of course! Wish them all the best.

. . . Bookmarking this thread to check back in 5 years. If he's still there, it's something to start paying attention to . . .

You will forget to check back. They have websites now where you can send yourself an email at some future date and time, so send yourself a reminder now for 2016!

Some interesting comments on Barça's youth academy from Tim Vickery in his latest blog entry at BBC:

Then in a few years if he pans out and becomes a great player spain will give him a passport and he'll play for spain. Same way they stoled rodrigo moreno and thiago and rafa alcantara from brasil and tried to steal messi from argentina.

Hello Ben, Can we interpret this to mean no candadian was signed to La Masia?
Also if you'd like can you elaborate on your training and what its like to train with Barcelona? Good Luck.

First of all it's not Ben ,I will never let him be on any forum to discuss this and I am sure he won't do it also .
He is very happy with Barca training and there stuff, he also can talk and understand Spanish that he didn't have before.
    Win win situation for him

I will go out on a limb and say Ben's real father will know basic English syntax.
And in this thread. 'No Canadian'. What does that mean?

Ben is not the only American in barca youth setup. Two brothers, last name little, joined their program.
