Re: Mikkel Diskerud can choose US or Norway NT [R] How have you been settling in Gent in terms of soccer and the different country?
Re: Mikkel Diskerud can choose US or Norway NT [R] Not really a question, but I'd just like to say that you are ridiculously good at soccer/football. I'm a huge fan of yours.
Re: Mikkel Diskerud can choose US or Norway NT [R] Don't have a question either, just wanted to echo his sentiments. Can't wait to see you at the Olypmics this summer Mix!
Re: Mikkel Diskerud can choose US or Norway NT [R] Mix, congratulations to yourself and the team for such a great performance. I, as an American football fan since '94, am more excited about the future than I ever have been. How often do you stay late practicing your long shots? You almost got one in the 50th minute. Also, very classy comments on the goal. I'm sure Freddie appreciated them.
Re: Mikkel Diskerud can choose US or Norway NT [R] Hey Mix! Great game vs Mexico! Loved your high work rate and box-to-box game! Question: What player, past or present, would you like to model your game after? In other words...who would you compare yourself to? Keep on keeping on!
Re: Mikkel Diskerud can choose US or Norway NT [R] 1. Great game by yourself and the team against Mexico. 2. If you had one area to improve on in your game what would it be and why?
Re: Mikkel Diskerud can choose US or Norway NT [R] Great game! Most US fans would probably say that the biggest games outside of WC and WCQ are any game against Mexico. How aware are you and the other players of the rivalry between us and Mexico? Do you really feel it? Or is it more of something that is focused on by the fans and not players?
Re: Mikkel Diskerud can choose US or Norway NT [R] Not a question, but wanted to say thanks for playing a key role in humbling Mexico. And welcome to the grand tradition that is Dos a cero!
Re: Mikkel Diskerud can choose US or Norway NT [R] You're a B.S. legend now. A goal and assist against Mexico? That was for all the Taco Bell you've eaten in your life. Mikkelzuma's revenge.
Re: Mikkel Diskerud can choose US or Norway NT [R] 1. What are the differences between playing in Norway and Belguim? 2. What is your impression of the U-23 team? 3. How challenging is all the travel you seem to be doing? 4. What is the best part of being a professional footballer? The worst? 5. Did Gent acquire you because they wanted you to fill a position or did you have to win your way into the lineup? 6. What aspects of your game are you currently working to improve? 7. What might be your thoughts about your next move? Thanks for being available to answer questions . . .
Re: Mikkel Diskerud can choose US or Norway NT [R] I'm curious about some of the new German American players. We don't know too much about them. So any tidbits on what their personalities are like or comments on how well they speak English would be welcome. I believe you've now been in camps with Morales, Boyd, Wooten and maybe a couple others.
Re: Mikkel Diskerud can choose US or Norway NT [R] You were an incredibly calming influence out there, Mix. When you were nervous early on the team was nervous. The second you settled down everyone else did. Unbelievable performance. The only thing better would be if it were at Azteca.
Re: Mikkel Diskerud can choose US or Norway NT [R] Well done Mix, you controlled the midfield like a boss! Continue the great work!
Re: Mikkel Diskerud can choose US or Norway NT [R] What do you think the most significant strengths (as a team) and weaknesses (as a team) of this Olympic team are? And how has that changed since the first camp?
Re: Mikkel Diskerud can choose US or Norway NT [R] What was the most helpful bit of soccer advice or coaching you have received so far?
Re: Mikkel Diskerud can choose US or Norway NT [R] What is your favorite jersey number and why? What league do you aspire to play in next?
Re: Mikkel Diskerud can choose US or Norway NT [R] Favorite jersey #: black jack 21. I got that one for you, mix.
Re: Mikkel Diskerud can choose US or Norway NT [R] I dunno the rivalry between the US and Canada in hockey is fairly take in comparison. I think the dynamic of a lot of Americans being fans of Mexico is a big factor.
Re: Mikkel Diskerud can choose US or Norway NT [R] Mix has been on the internet before. I'm sure he's used to it. ------ No question from me, just want to say It's a pleasure watching you play and can't wait to see you in the Qualifiers. Hope to make a video of you soon.
Re: Mikkel Diskerud can choose US or Norway NT [R] We are a young team (obviously), and with a young coach. Behind the coach and the team there is a group that includes experience to the highest degree. I think we already have shown, that for potential, we have got what it takes. Don't you agree? If we succeed is up to us and the supporters. And to motivate each other is a responsibility we all have to share. To comment on any one particular in our team like that - I choose not to. To connect with Juan always feels good. I think we are starting to read each other rather well. When you in discussions in theory shuffle line ups around, don't underestimate how important it is that the players have spent a lot of time on and off the field together in order to make the most of it on matchday. I have not only through call ups spent time with Juan, and it is for both of us nice to see that practice and talks pay off.
Re: Mikkel Diskerud can choose US or Norway NT [R] It was important for me (and for the rest of the team I take it) to learn as much as possible about the Mexican team and each of their players. To win was important in the sense that it will help us building a positive crowd and a good group of supporters for the rest of our olympic quest. In the game - I didn't try to come across as reserved
Re: Mikkel Diskerud can choose US or Norway NT [R] Seriously, I don't think the ball would have gone in unless I had flicked it. That being said, I think we ought to see this goal, from the time it left Freddy's foot, as a joint effort where I deserve 10% of the credit, and Freddy 90%. It was a great shot. But by all means - I have seldom seen a goal that in some way is not the result of a whole team's effort. Someone else created the open spaces.
