yeh true in4tun8ly, I blame the way sydney is designed 2 be honest, which as anyone who has 2 drive by car here or use the 3rd world public transport, is a complete and utter joke 4 a modern city this size Im sure if sydney was laid out properly, with an efficient sensible road system, and an underground metro that went everywhere, we would get much better crowds at all our sporting events, not just football do u know that the idiotic labor government un4tun8ly in charge b4, spent over 700 million of investors money, on an east west tunnel under the CBD that hardly anyone uses?
yeh true,it might be a good idea if syd fc relocated out there then, can u imagine the victory fans coming back from that trek out into the not so kind west, as what they have been used to in the latte sipping east? I dont think they wud be half as loud with whole suburbs of islanders, lebs and aussie bogans to travel thru lol

I'm shocked!!! Shocked, I say!!! I look forward to the upcoming legal battle and FIFA bringing down the hammer on everything that moves because of the lawsuit. I'll be in the kitchen firing up the popcorn popper. I'll be making extra, just in case anyone else wants some.
good riddance palmer, what a softcock I hope Tinkler and FFA sort things out, it sounds like they done the wrong thing by him
Had to be done. The Gold Coast is a difficult market but the AFL expansion shows a better way for a smaller sport to succeed in the market. Tinkler has genuine grievances and is somebody FFA need to keep onside.
damn straight, they better fix that up[ soon, or he might just walk, and who could blame him, thats a very shabby and unprofessional way of doing business from Lowy
As a former Gold Coast United fan (quit supporting the team a few weeks ago when Palmer came out and said he hated the game, sacked Bleiberg for freedom of speech which ironically they had on their shirts the next week), I am a bit sad by the news. If done properly at the start when there was a bit of interest I think GCU could of succeeded, but Palmer and his mining buddies arrogance and lack of knowledge of sports and marketing really shot themselves in the foot. I really feel bad for the players and liked what GCU was doing this year, really promoting younger players. I hope guys like Traore, Brown, Halloran, Mebrahtu & Baker-Daish can find new teams. Thwaite & Moss shouldn't have any touble.
Yeah I feel at some stage FIFA will come in and stomp on Palmer's efforts with this "Football Australia" thing going on. While he expressed a lot of it in bizarre ways, he did have a lot of good points. Though one thing for sure, a separately governed A-League, while I do definitely support that concept, is not conceivable atm. FFA can only sort of make money from the TV rights if they sell A-League rights along with Socceroos in one package. And it's obvious the Socceroos probably fetch a very large proportion of that money (otherwise FFA would negotiate them both separately).
Hold on- its back to Mulvey http://theworldgame.sbs.com.au/news/1095945/Mulvey-reinstated-at-Gold-Coast
Anyhoo, who wants the scraps? http://theworldgame.sbs.com.au/news/1096221/Gold-Coast-players-face-uncertain-future
Can anyone see a future for Football on the Gold Coast? Clive Palmer, you inherited a fortune in Palmer Steel but as a Football Club owner you ****** it mate. Sorry to say mate.
