Keeper Notes has a new weekly, 1-hr radio show on 1560 The Game every Sunday called "The Firkin Soccer Show". It will be a two person show with Jen Cooper, the Keeper Notes founder, with a rotating panel of co-hosts. The show will also be podcast. We will continue the KeeperNotes YouTube postgame shows in addition to our radio show content. I hope you can join us every week!
Re: The Firkin Soccer Show - Every Sunday 7-8am It really should be the Freakin' Firkin Soccer Show. And you could occasionally give out a Freakin' Firkin Flying Fickle Finger of Fate Award (if you're not old enough, it's from Rowan and Martin's Laugh-In). http://www.tvacres.com/awards_booby_flying.htm
Re: The Firkin Soccer Show - Every Sunday 7-8am More importantly - will the chat room be open for ceremonial abuse?
Re: The Firkin Soccer Show - Every Sunday 7-8am 1560 will be hosting the podcast, but I'll ask if they can do it via Itunes. We'll be sure to monitor @keepernotes twitter, but I'll ask them as the meeting today was generalized and it was to get to know the production staff that will assist us.
Re: The Firkin Soccer Show - Every Sunday 7-8am The first show is in the books. Podcast to be available hopefully tomorrow. Thanks to all that listened in.
Re: The Firkin Soccer Show - Every Sunday 7-8am post the link when the podcast is up and I'll certainly have a listen.
Re: The Firkin Soccer Show - Every Sunday 7-8am We will be giving away a 4-pack of tix to the Mexico vs Venezuela game. We're still waiting on 1560 on getting the podcasts posted.
Re: The Firkin Soccer Show - Every Sunday 7-8am Glen's podcasts are up immediately after the broadcast. I just see this as another example of discrimination against those of us who refuse to get up early on Sunday

Re: The Firkin Soccer Show - Every Sunday 7-8am MODS: Can you change the thread title to The Firkin Soccer Show - Every Sunday 10-11am? 1560 The Game has put us in a better time slot!!! wooo hoooo!!!
Does this mean the Firkin & Phoenix have realized they are Dynamo sponsors (unsure of the accuracy of that statement anymore), inferring they should be aware of when Dynamo games are on TV and already have it on? Last time I went there to watch a game they looked at me with utter confusion. Perhaps I was speaking in some strange made-up language, so perhaps I shouldn't think they are twits. (of course, I am making up the assumption that the name of the show is related to that establishment.)
The Firkin and Phoenix does sponsor the show and one would hope they have games on TV as well. Not sure when you went there last but we can check on it for this year. This Sunday's show will be the Regional Round-Up Show. Houston Dynamo - Player Moves, Scrimmage vs Montreal, Stadium etc. USWNT - Recap from Saturday's game in Frisco Galveston Pirates - Update from Brendan Keynes Crocketteers - James Hope will give us an update on them and the San Antonio Scorpions and more.
New 02/12/2012 Show is up! Segment 1 - Houston Dynamo talk (Deric, Yardley move to FCD, and Stadium) Segment 2 - Regional Roundup w @PirateSoccer head coach Brendan Keyes Segment 3 - Regional Roundup talking Austin Aztexs, Houston Aces, and others Segment 4 - Interview with @Crocketteers ' James Hope Segment 5 - Finishing up Regional Roundup talk The James Hope segment is very interesting especially since they had built an SG w/o a team. Talking about how they wanted to research lots of SGs around the country to do it right. Great interview
Yossarin, I enjoy listening to the show. I like the format of having several people during the show talking to each other, and it's VERY refreshing to hear a female voice talking soccer. Keep up the good work! I am probably one of the few people who gets soooo bored listening to Glenn Davis. I find his show hard to listen to, hate his monotonous voice, the way he stops a caller from talking when he doesn't agree with them, the way he avoids controversial conversations with Dynamo reps. Therefore, the Firkin Soccer show is a great alternative. I have to confess that I am such a terrible soccer fan, that I didn't listen to the recent REGIONAL roundup. I only have time for Dynamo, some MLS, and perhaps Argentinean Primera, EPL, La Liga. Everything else I don't make time for. NOTE TO SELF: I need to resuscribe to FUTBOL DE PRIMERA podcasts.
That's the way I see this radio show. I see it as a more typical soccer radio show from around the world. It doesn't limit itself to praising the home team, and actually touches almost any subject. Much like Futbol De Primera does against Mexican teams and others.
