Great way for Kuyt to finally score his 50th. Can't wait for his 51st when he scores the winner in the 2013 CL Final!

Great week of victories against two best teams in the league. Hopefully we keep getting drawn against teams in the top 4.

Now let's get Suarez back and do work in the league please.

No words to describe how happy I am today :D

Great to see Carroll get the assist, maybe his jumps will be a little higher and his feet a little quicker in the next game.

Dirk -- wow! Comes through in the big game again.

Good switches by Kenny to get the team back in the match ... epic end to the match with the winner into the Kop. Wow!

    Thank you!

And great goal by Kuyt! You have to have a 'knack' and Kuyt has it.
He ran straight on expecting the ball to go through by Carroll - and it did!!! Kuyt has a knack for scoring BIG BIG goals!

I believe he is still on 49 league goals and that was his 68th in all comps.

Kenny played it perfectly. Hold them for 60 and the win it with the subs.

I think I woke up 5 times last night in a panic that I'd miss the kickoff. Haven't looked this forward to a game in ages.

Well done to the lads. Looking forward to the run in.

Nah, I was happy that wasn't called because that was a deflection, not an intentional pass to the keeper. The Yanited player just stuck his foot out to try to block the pass...and it woulda ruined the entertainment value of what was a great game if that was unfairly called as a back pass.

Just when you are a ready to write off Dirk Kuyt, he scores the biggest goal of the season.

Great work by Carroll today as well. He worked his socks off despite being isolated for most of the match and did well to set up the goal. I would still like to see him make better runs in anticipation of a cross. He is always waiting on the back post behind the defenders and the ball never gets there. If he would make a run across the defenders to the near post, he would be so much more dangerous.

I think Kenny initially got it wrong when he started Carragher in midfield. Man United were controlling the game and Carra was never anywhere near the ball. I understand the temptation to have Carra's experience in a game like this, but he looked a bit lost in that position. Shelvey may have done more to neutralize Scholes.

However, Kenny's substitutions were excellent and won us the game. He didn't stick with Carra for too long, and Adam made a difference. Ferguson on the other hand got it wrong. As soon as Scholes came off, the game turned in Liverpool's favor.

How is it that with both Scholes and Giggs in the team, Patrice Evra wears the captains armband? What an embarrassment.

What a week for Liverpool. Hopefully our cup successes carry over to the league. It would be great if we could cap off the week with a quality signing before the close of the window. If we could get another attacker, have Suarez come back, have Gerrard stay fit, have Bellamy continue to shine, and have Carroll and Kuyt find some form.....then we got something. YNWA

In fairness to Jose, he was left to defend Valencia and Rafael all by himself. Maxi, or whoever was supposed to be playing left wing for most of the match, did not provide much support.

I'm often a critic of Downing, but he was a waste while on the right wing. When he was moved over to the left when Kuyt came on I think he did quite well and he kept Rafael from surging forward. He should stay on the left from now on because like you say he is a total waste of time on the right.

I think that isn't a pic from today. I think thats Darron Gibson and the Da Silva twins in the stands.

Evra, backed by United, has reported Kuyt to the FA for Manchester abuse.

Do y'all know how hard it is to be silent when Dirk Kuyt scores a match winner because it is 4:00ish in the a.m. and the entire house is asleep...I do. It's pretty tough I can tell you. :D Worth it though.

Carroll's desire grew as the match went on. He had some terrific link up play when dropping back. He fought back defensively when we bunker'd. Sure he looks clumsy at times, but we saw some grit from him -- I think that's what many of us have been asking. Outstanding coffin corner to end the match with him literally frothing all over the ball. If I were a ManU (and thank God Almighty Im not!) that would have been a very frustrating 1:30 sequence to watch.

Would still like to see Downing given a chance to stick to the left. Young Jordan has showed some flashes the last few weeks.

LFC 9 shots on goal, to the scum's 3. Terrific all around effort - the only way to beat scum.

Loved seeing Suarez's fist pump after the first goal too.

    I say, lets DOUBLE.

I know it's still too early to hope for this, but I would love it if Liverpool win an FA Cup and League Cup double. :)

Pleasant surprise, wasn't it? Great timing just after Fergies old men had shot their bolt.

We swarmed all over them at high speed for the first 25 or so and got the first goal in the 20th.
Then they gradually managed to slow the game down and hold possession, gained control and got their goal in the 40th.
The start of the second half was a bit of a battle with the skanks a little to the better until Scholes started to tire....
Then came the changes, the tempo picked up again and in our favor until the 88th and the winning goal.

Nice not going into bunker mode for the last 5 minutes, hate that! Unless you call us holding the ball at their corner flag bunkering..:)
