That's what some clubs, leaded by Sevilla are trying to do, negociating as a league and not as separate clubs; but aparently the clubs between the majority and Madrid and Barça (Atletico, Valencia...) are ok with the little more money they're offered in the negotiations. Curious, because i think those almost "megaclubs" would be the more beneffited teams with a better share revenue and a thinner gap with Madrid and Barça (as before, when TV rights were not as important as the gate revenue, shirts sales, etc...). On the other hand, while there have been problems with their new stadium proyects (Valencia is likely to resume construction and Atleti has problems with Madrid building legislation), once (if) they finish their proyects, could create a second great gap with europe-competition wannabies, creating a elite of four/five (with Athletic de Bilbao, who are also building the new stadium) wich for a long time holds the top european berths (the dbout would be then wich of the top five is not in the Champions league). Back to the question, they appear to be in a low profile, that movement dissapeared from the media like one year a go, may be by the season's end is back with power. La Liga on Al Jazeera Sports would be a problem for most people in the U.S., since most people don't even have Al Jazeera. Games are already hard to find due to the weird TV scheduling (heck, I still don't get Fox Soccer, GolTV or ESPN Deportes in HD). There's been talk that Al Jazeera Sports is also the new home for Serie A and is bidding for the U.S. TV rights to the EPL and Champions League. Also, Univision just started a sports channel (Univision Deportes) and wants to bid on the Spanish rights to La Liga. 2013-2014 could see a major shakeup of where we get our La Liga fix in the U.S.
La Liga is not on FIOS, TimeWarner or CableVision (north east). Does anyone get the games? Seria A and La Liga seem to be gone. All we have left is crappy Barclays. . . yeah! i get to see Norwich v. Yup, who would watch the Barclays English Premier League with those crummy teams like Manchester United, Manchester City, Arsenal, Liverpool, Newcastle, and of course Chelsea, the team that won Europe and went to number one. Rumours are that la liga will be on Comcast, that Comcast has picked up the new beIN sports. We shall see if that is true.

Just got back from 3 weeks in Spain where due to the fact that the matches were not on public TV but instead on premium channels which most Spaniards can't afford due to the economic crisis and most hotels don't carry either I did not see Er Glorioso play any of their four games while I was there. However to my surprise when I got back home and was setting up the DVR to record some EPL I almost fell out of my chair when I realized saw that ATT UVerse finally offered BeIn Sports (I have U450 package) and was able to see Er Glorioso defeat Villareal this past weekend. Guess the year plus Liga void is over! Woot!! Ese Beti Oe!!
