West Virginia also picks up Suliaman Dainkeh, but the big news apparently came out of Georgetown where they signed Brett Campbell. Record-setting goal-scorer makes commitment
A) Traditionally, we've used this thread for official LOI announcements, not media reports of signings or verbals. Please try and honor that in the future. B) The players in question in the link you posted are for 2013. C) You got Dainkeh's school wrong as the report you posted says he committed to Maryland.

Wake Forest announced their 2012 class.... Some impressive names here. Sounds like they think very highly of Harris as a GK, which is probably why Pacifici ended up leaving.

Not that I'm complaining, but how were they able to announce these guys before signing day? They're not all enrolled already, are they?
Yeah...unless ALL 7 have enrolled early, that is a huge NCAA no-no. And if they all did enroll early, that really needs to be in the release to alleviate any confusion. EDIT: Looking at their Twitter account, the players are coming in the fall. So yeah...their compliance office might want to get on that. Signing day for men's soccer is Feb. 1. You can't talk about a player until they have signed an NLI or an offer of admission from the school. Can't sign an NLI until Feb. 1.
You have all the facts in front of you but you guys dont seem to know the rule thorough. You can't announce that they have signed an NLI until they have signed an NLI on February 1st and paid their tuition fees. You can announce your committed class (once they have paid those fees/accepted admission) before they sign their NLIs as long as you don't mention NLIs. Wake Forest's release makes no mention of NLIs, simply that these players are in the 2012 recruiting class for Wake. Sneaky way of doing the same thing.
The real confirmation won't come until mid to late August when he steps on the field for practices/games.
Good summary. The poster also mentioned that schools "can't talk about" a player before he signs a NLI, which is true but only applies to opinion. A coach can't say "Johnny Rocketleg has a blazing fast first step, a tremendous work ethic and always brushes his teeth after meals" until after a kid signs, but the Sports Information Dept. can issue a statement listing credentials like "was a 2011 Parade All American who led his team in goals and assists".
Aaaaaand here we gooooooooooooo........... The first link I found was from South Carolina, which has a a pretty cool "rolling release" that gets updated as the LOIs arrive. http://www.gamecocksonline.com/signingday/signingday-2012-m-soccer.html
They have something like it.... for football. http://www.uconnhuskies.com/sports/m-footbl/spec-rel/013112aab.html
Cal coach Kevin Grimes is almost always one of the first coaches to officially announce his new players and this year is no exception. The difference this year is that the Bears bring back everyone who played for them last year, thus there isn't much room at the inn for new players in Berkeley. Still, Grimes managed one player and its a noteworthy one in JuCo All America Luis Fuentes, who helped Mt. San Antonio to back-to-back California state titles. http://www.calbears.com/sports/m-soccer/spec-rel/020112aaa.html Leaving soccer aside, it's really cool to see a kid go from a JuCo to one of the top academic colleges in America. I guess you can't leave soccer aside, as it's the vehicle to get him to Cal, but its more important in the classroom than the field. Also, it's the embodiment, athletically and academically, of how junior colleges are so important in our country.
Wake Forest announced their 2012 class.... Michael Gamble – Baltimore Bays DA Ricky Greensfelder – Baltimore Bays DA Andrew Harris – Baltimore Bays DA Jalen Robinson – DC United DA Thomas Haws - Lonestar Soccer Club DA Philip Parker - Houston Texans Soccer Academy Ryan Perry - Louisville, KY Sandon -- I look at this list and I have to ask what is going on with Maryland? Some of these guys are studs that Wake took right out of the Terps backyard. I assume Cirovski will end up with a good class, as usual, and I also recall they usually report their class late, but this still looks like they got beaten bad on their own turf.
