Our league is now ranked 4th best in the world behind Spain, England and Brasil. Not bad considering the financial restrictions our league has and our teams having to sell our stars. I think it is time we give ourselves some respect. Yes we are ahead of France and Germany. Cant remember the last time Ive seen this.

    UEFA Rankings are what matter.

Ok yes but as far as competitions is concerned but as far as recognition is concerned, it is nice to see our league achieve recognition.

Yes, it is nice but our league is a joke. Look at the attendance figures of teams 5-16. Pathetic. We are lucky we have 4 teams doing well in Europe which seem to be the same 4 teams year after year, that is why we are ranked so high

I agree with you to a certain point bud but come on, most leagues top 4 or 5 are really good then there is a huge drop off. We are not alone. Do I seriously think our league is better than the German or Italian top to bottem? No, but it is nice to see that our top 4 teams are competing well despite the obvious financial disadvantage that we have. Attendance has nothing to do with a leagues competitiveness. That just adds to the significance of our accomplishments despite our financial shortages. Yes we are small and poor but how about giving us some credit too. I cant help but wonder how good we could be if our financial situation was better.

IFHHS also has both Porto and Benfica listed in the top 10 of the best clubs in the world. When was the last time we have seen this ? Hopefully, Sporting will soon join us. Spain and England are the only other two leagues to also have two teams in the to 10. No small accomplishment. Well done Portugal

That table is a bit of a joke. Look at the rest of the top 10. And I'm sorry but Brazil's league, and in fact, no South American league deserves to be in the top 5. It's a farmer continent for the big league boys... Sad but true.

Thanks for the post amigo. Despite what some are saying, this is without a doubt a significant milestone for our liga. Being the 4th best in the world is nothing short of amazing considering the ligas revenue compared to the top 3. How many leagues can only dream of getting to this level and never will?

Top 4 bitches! Força Portugal :D

After a great performance in Euro 2012, I guess Portugal could go up a bit in the rankings....

Since we are rising on the rankings will ANY channel i.e. GolTV or FOX or beIN Sports even buy rights for this league? When do the rights go up for bidding and how long before it goes up for bidding again?

I was looking on Espn3 for Portuguese Liga, there were no listings for any Portugese Liga games. Did they loose the rights? I hope next season Fox or Goltv pick it up.
