    2011 Thread

After Trezeguet's arrival, everything appears ready for Leo Ponzio's return. He terminated his contract with Zaragoza today and should be reaching an agreement with River soon.

    Players In
    David Trezeguet
    Leo Ponzio?

    Players Out
    Alexis Ferrero

    Others
Facundo Affranchino to Olimpo or Nacional (URU)?
Mauro Diaz to San Martin (SJ)?
    Adalberto Roman to Palmeiras?

I'm actually quite pleased with the signings: Trezeguet adds something new to the team (height), and Ponzio is not only a good player, he's also cover for a bunch of different positions. And, by not bringing in any new defenders, we're going to see a lot more of Pezzella, Gonzalez Pires and Funes Mori.

Adalberto Roman's loan to Palmeiras officially confirmed. $200,000 for the loan, $3,500,000 if they want to keep him.

Apparently San Martín de San Juan wants Affranchino too, it seems that their two signings will be River players. Ponzio is pretty much done deal and will sign with River.

I hope Affranchino will go on loan.he started very promisingly but the lunacy of the past year choked him.He still.could be a good player

I would not take too much notice of riverplate.com.This site is wildly anti Passarella.Compare their top story to muyriver who are showcasing how we got Ponzio for a million dollars.Muyriver is very pro Kaiser so both sites stories can often be taken with a pinch of salt. There is no way Cirigliano will be sold that cheaply unless we dont sell anybody else.Ok I know hes a five but hes been playing so well hes worth more than that and unlike Aguilar the Kaiser hasnt undervalued our players so far

You got backwards, riverplate.com is very pro-passarella meanwhile it's the contrary for muyriver. At least at the time i was still watching these sites.

btw, that news was taken from Olé.

MSI2 is right. Muyriver is anti-Passarella. Its run by Hernan Castillo who used to be one of Closs's pets on radio la red... its about as anti-passarella as you can get.

If anything, I'd say Riverplate.com has no real political agenda

Though if this is true, I will be very very mad. I don't want to lose any pibes until they have played in the Primera... It would be a waste to not even enjoy 1 semester of Ocampos in the A. It would be like we never even had him to be honest

Looks like Affranchino has one foot in Bahia Blanca: Olimpo is close to taking him on loan without charge for 6 months.

I like Affranchino and I'm glad he isn't being outright sold, and there isn't even an option to buy. Hopefully he will do well there and can either come back to River with more confidence, or we can sell him to a bigger club outside argentina to make good money

Any news on Funes Mori? It looked like All Boys wanted him on loan but River will only sell him.

Tigre had wanted him on loan as well, but River rejected the offer. Since he's an important player for Almeyda, he will only leave if a tempting transfer offer arrives. Keko, on the other hand, is available on loan and is more likely to leave to another team for 6 months.

Unión Española are looking at Mauro Diaz as a possible replacement for Martin Liguera, in case the Uruguayan goes to Atletico Paranaense. It would be a good opportunity for Maurito to gain minutes, hopefully it pulls through.

Confirmed: Mauro Diaz to Union Española on loan for a year. The Chileans will have the option to buy 70% of his transfer for $3,000,000.

Good thing Villalva didn't leave.. he was quite easily on of our best players vs. Almirante Brown, even though he barely played. He has the skill and creativity that we've been lacking. Hopefully we get to see him play more: in 20 minutes he did much more than what Rios and Funes Mori have done all season.

As for Aguirre, San Lorenzo were trying to take him but apparently he wants to stay. It would have been a shame to see him leave so fast, specially after his very positive first 6 months. Either way, how was CASLA planning on making an offer if they still haven't paid for their past transfers and can't even afford to supply balls for training to their youth divisions?

I really hope that Villalva's display against Almirante (the run down the left that nearly ended in a Funes Mori goal was fantastic) means he'll top Rios in the pecking order, although they play pretty different roles. Honestly, I wouldn't be too bothered by moving Villalva out to the left and rotating him with Ocampos.

Just watched Racing-Tigre and I thought Lucas Orban.had a very good match.Does anyone know the details of his.loan.Do Tigre have an option.Hes light years ahead of Arano grew up in the club and if he keeps this improvment up.he would seriiously challenge.Diaz and being 1.84 he will.help our weakness at crosses.
